Ok let's get started

He's not used to the silence, and it feels strange, overwhelming. He stops himself from reaching for his phone to bother one of his hyungs. The vast open space of his apartment feels uncomfortable, it doesn't quite feel like what his ten year old self imagined things would be when he'd moved from Busan to Seoul. It's even more strange to have no schedules, no plans at all; no diets, no one telling him what to do or what to eat or even what to wear. He feels somewhat like he's been thrown into the deep end of a pool with no floaters on and he doesn't know how to swim. He should have gone home like Taehyung and Jimin did. The moment they had their last concert the two of them were running home.

Home. Busan hadn't been home for awhile, it always felt like a mix of new and old; he has plans to go back home for sure. Just not today. He knows if he goes home he'll be bombarded with questions of what's next and what his plans and goals are or even worse whether he plans to settle down. Unfortunately he can't pretend to not understand the language or look to one of his hyungs or directors or managers for answers.

He's alone now. Of course he could bother someone but Jungkook doesn't have the heart to, he doesn't remember the last time that any of them had a break. A real break. With no plans or deadlines weighing over their heads. He must not be selfish, he was when he was younger and much more naive but he's matured now or at least he hopes he has. He will suffer alone.

He has an urge to look at his phone but Bang PD had spoken so much about staying away from SNS that he feels guilty for even glancing at the Twitter app. The bright blue bird calls to him, but he ignores it. He stretches out on his couch, a huge expensive leather thing that looked better than it felt. He's never felt so lost, so confused about anything. But he knows he needs to rest. He needs to take a breath. Learn to look after himself a little.

He wonders what the others are doing; Hoseok hyung had jumped into work opting to stay in BigHit and work on choreography with TXT. It wasn't a full time thing but just something to keep him occupied. Yoongi hyung had plans to go into radio, hosting some popular show. He remembers how excited his little hyung was, waving his arms in the air and doing a silly little dance and showing off his gummy smile. When he heard the news, he'd taken Hyung out for a drink that turned into a several and Yoongi ended up paying for it, telling Jungkook that he loved him. It was all very sweet until the hangover the next day and Yoongi wasn't even slightly affected by it, affectionately patting his back and offering him coconut water.

Seokjin was taking time off to consider his options; he was offered to host a new comedy talk show on KBS world or to continue his plan on starting up a new restaurant with his brother. He was the only one out of the seven of them who was actually dating someone. Sooyun was lovely, one of Seokjin's batch mates from his university and possibly the only girl who had turned him down twice before finally agreeing to one date.

They seemed to have worked out if the pictures that spam their group chat prove correct. He remembers Namjoon joking when Seokjin had told them in desperation the love of his life had turned him down.

Kim Namjoon

"Hyung if you don't stand a chance how could we?"

He'd joked about how with his face, girls wouldn't like him, the typical self deprecating humour that Namjoon was known for. Hoseok had slapped his arm and told him about all the girls crying over Twitter about his looks but Jungkook could only register one thing. Namjoon was straight. Or at the very least he had plans of getting a girlfriend.

Jungkook knew he was gay fairly early on, he hadn't know precisely the word to describe it until he had joined BigHit. Now looking back it seems crystal clear to him. He was lucky, he didn't struggle with coming to terms with it or going through what many teenagers and young people in the LGBT community had to go through. He had sort of accepted it, after Namjoon and Yoongi had a lengthy discussion with the group about sexuality following that kiss for Rookie King where Taehyung and Hoseok had to reenact a scene from Frozen Flower.

He'd asked Namjoon about it, wide eyed and afraid, and Namjooon had guided him to more wholesome books that portrayed LGBT characters as less of a spectacle and more of normal human beings living their lives. He had cried watching Brokeback Mountain.

It wasn't that he hadn't experimented. He doesn't even remember how it started but Taehyung had suggested they "take their stress out" and one thing led to another. It was fun while it lasted, Taehyung was gentle and thoughtful, always making sure Jungkook was comfortable. Jimin had joined them later on and that's when Jungkook realized he was third-wheeling.

Of course neither of them ever made him feel that way, they were too caring and loving but one time Jungkook had asked if he could watch instead of participate. That was when he saw the difference. They didn't even seem to notice his presence in the room, so absorbed and one with each other. It was different to what he had with Taehyung or Jimin, or even with both of them together.

Jeon Jungkook

“This is what love looks like” ; he thought.

They were both a little sad when he wanted to stop, reassuring them again and again it wasn't because he felt used or uncomfortable. He just felt like he was intruding, they weren't in a relationship but Jungkook thinks they might be someday, when the world was more accepting. The hyungs knew about what they did, it was pretty hard to hide anything from them and definitely even harder to be quiet during sex. Taehyung was loud even with a gag on, and Jimin could barely keep still and there had been enough moments where someone had walked in on the two of them with horrified eyes.

There was that time that Hoseok had found a leash in their room and he kept asking who had a dog and Jimin giggled.

Park Jimin

"Hyung that's...that's not..." 😂

Taehyung had gone into a full blown laugh before Hoseok with widened eyes realised what it was and promptly dropped the leash running to clean his hands. Jimin and Taehyung had doubled over laughing. Of course they knew the rules: no marks, no kissing in public; everything was always in the isolation and comfort of their dorms or hotel rooms

It wasn't just them, sometimes the hyung's needed some time out and strange as it was, there were people who'd been vetted through the company signing endless NDAs just so they could do things normal guys their age would do. It's all a little strange, he doesn't know how to be normal. Whatever normal was for them.

He supposes Jimin wanted some sense of normal. They were all fairly flabbergasted when he announced he wanted to go back to school.

Kim Taehyung

"Believe me, I tried to talk him out, but that's what he wants so I'm going to support him."

Taehyung squeezes Jimin's shoulder and the man in question smiles back affectionately. Namjoon nods, he always understood and was quick to defend Jimin.

Kim Namjoon

"That's really great Jimin, it's not an easy decision to go back to school."

Kim Taehyung

"Ask him. Ask him what he's studying." teasingly

Jimin groans burying his face in his hands.
