Upon arriving at the office, Disya walked straight to her room, not glancing left or right and unaware if someone recognized her.
"Disya, she works here," thought the man, his recognition certain.
He moved towards the receptionist.
"Fit, is there an employee named Disya Fanesya?" the man inquired of Fitri, the lobby receptionist.
"Oh, one moment, Mr. Dino," Fitri checked the mentioned name.
"Disya Fanesya, works in the finance staff, Mr. and—"
"That's fine, thank you." Dino cut her off impatiently.
"Oof, Mr. Dino is strange," Fitri grumbled due to his abrupt departure.
Disya got to her room, finding her colleagues already seated in their respective chairs.
"Sorry I'm late," Disya said, grinning.
"Relax, Sya, we just got here too," one colleague replied.
"Where were you? I asked you to lunch, and you disappear," Dimas said with a pout.
"Hehe, I was at the head office, missed my friends," Disya responded as she powered on her computer.
"Huh, you should've invited me; I could've joined," Dimas continued.
"And do what? Flirt with the girls there?" Disya laughed.
"Could be, so I'm not single anymore." Both laughed.
"Disya..!"
Their laughter ceased at the sound of that voice.
Disya's eyes widened at the sight of the tall man standing in front of her desk.
"Mr. Dino." Disya stood up quickly.
Dino smiled broadly, "So I was right, you do work here?" he asked without his smile faltering.
"Yes, Mr. How did you know?"
Dino just smiled, leaving Disya to internally curse her own foolish question.
"You forgot who I am?" Dino asked, raising an eyebrow.
Disya grinned, showing her neat teeth.
"I did for a moment, but seeing Mr. Dino reminds me," she self-admonished foolishly.
"Great to see you here, and it turns out we work at the same office."
Dino was sincere; he was happy to see Disya at his workplace.
Dimas, who had been watching, felt annoyed, wondering who this man was.
"Well, happy working. If you need anything, call me, my number hasn't changed, as I said two years ago."
Boom.
Disya stood frozen, two years ago?
"Cheer up, Disya dear." Dino patted her head gently.
Dimas grimaced at Dino's actions.
"Sya, who was that?" Dimas asked.
Dimas stared at Disya, who still stood motionless and didn't answer his question. "Sya.. Disya..!"
"Uh, what's up, Dim?" Disya, coming to her senses, looked at Dimas, puzzled. "What did you ask?"
Dimas, slightly annoyed, repeated, "Who was that man?"
"Oh, that's Mr. Dino, a friend. He's the marketing director here," Disya explained nonchalantly.
Dimas widened his eyes. "What kind of friend?" he probed.
Disya, confused by the question, replied with a hint of annoyance, "Just a friend, why?"
Realizing his slip, Dimas covered his mouth, "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean—"
"Let it go, let's work," Disya interjected, turning away from his gaze.
Dimas felt weak; his questions seemed to have upset her. Was it too obvious he had feelings for Disya at first sight?
Yet, Dimas lacked confidence, especially seeing who had approached her, because he was aware he had little to offer.

Elsewhere, just out of a meeting, Adam walked out, having chaired a discussion about an upcoming project with relevant staff.
"Fin, tomorrow everyone must be present, no exceptions," Adam told his assistant, Arfin.
"Sure, don't worry about it," Arfin replied, filing away the report.
"The branch finance director must be there too; I want to see this month's reports," Adam added.
"Hm," Arfin grunted in acknowledgment.
Adam, checking documents, glanced at his assistant busy with his device.
"Are you serious or not? If not, just go," Adam snapped, frustrated by Arfin's lackluster responses.
"Jeez, what's with the mood? You're acting like a maiden on her period," Arfin retorted irritably.
Wham.
"Damn you..!!" Adam threw the documents at Arfin, hitting his chest, because the assistant was preoccupied with his gadget.
"Such a spoilsport, Dam." Arfin stood up, leaving casually.
"Rude assistant," Adam muttered.
Adam leaned back on the sofa and remembered something, pulling open a drawer at his desk.
"Disya Fanesya Handoko," he murmured, reading the full name of the woman he fantasized about.
"The name Handoko seems familiar," he said, pondering her last name.
"Gah, why am I even thinking about her name? It's irrelevant," he muttered to himself like a madman.
Adam gazed at Disya's ID photo he held, her beauty equal to that on his phone.
"Beautiful," he said unconsciously.
"Who's beautiful?"
A voice startled Adam, who quickly stowed the card.
"Mom? Why didn't you knock first?" Adam asked, seeing his mother standing at his desk.
Ami narrowed her eyes, "Since when does your mother need to knock?" she snapped.
"I meant—," Adam stammered, scratching the back of his head needlessly, tripping over the words around his mother, who rightfully owned the place.
"Who did you just call beautiful?" Ami pressed, still curious about Adam's earlier murmur.
"Uh, it's just, um, you know?" Adam stuttered, struggling to respond.
"Do you have a girlfriend or a sweetheart?" Ami delved, scrutinizing her adult son's face.
Adam looked at her intensely. "What if I said no?"
Ami scoffed at his typical response.
"If you don't have one and can't find one, I'll find you one—"
"No, Mom, I don't want an arranged marriage," Adam cut in firmly.
"You dare to defy your mother?" Ami glared, incensed by her son's bold tone.
"No, I wouldn't dare. How could I?" Adam grimaced under his mother's penetrating stare.
"No wonder dad caves. You get scarier with age," Adam thought silently.

"Sya, someone's waiting for you," a female colleague informed Disya.
Turning to see, Disya noticed Dino standing at the door, smiling at her.
"Wow, Sya, just one month working and already charming Mr. Dino," teased Gita, who had been working for a year already.
"What are you talking about? Mr. Dino's just a friend," Disya denied honestly.
"A boyfriend wouldn't hurt, Sya. He's handsome and perfect," Gita laughed.
"You're too much," Disya shook her head.
"I'll go ahead, hurry up. He's waiting," Gita teased again before leaving.
As the office hours ended, Disya was alone and ready to leave.
"Not finished yet, Sya?" Dino approached her.
"I'm done, Mr. Just about to head home," Disya applied, indicating she was packed up.
"Let me drive you home," Dino offered.
"I've got my car, Mr. No need to trouble yourself." Disya smiled, noting Dino's sour expression.
"I was hoping to give you a ride but—"
"Maybe some other time, Mr. It's not in the cards just yet," Disya cut him off, laughing.
Dino joined in the laughter. "Right, you are. Just like two years ago, not yet meant to be. Now, I'll start trying again." Dino's words once again prompted Disya to think.
If she had reasons back then, what about now? Conflicted again, Disya knew she had to speak with her parents.
