"If you all measure by money alone. There, more than money!" Dion exclaimed angrily.
"Check it with the card reader. Does that card have money on it or not!" he snapped.
Manager Sherly, who saw Dion throw a yellow object onto the table, was taken aback. Although she had never seen a card of that kind before, she had heard of people possessing such cards. The owners are not to be trifled with.
If indeed the card is loaded with money and Dion is the owner, they are all in trouble!
They have been constantly demeaning and insulting Dion, without listening to a word of his explanation.
For every word from Dion, they responded twice, the more Dion spoke, they replied even more.
Now, when Dion tossed a yellow card before the receptionist's eyes, they were all silenced, including manager Sherly.
Her body trembled, imagining what her boss would say if he found out what was happening in the hotel lobby.
Manager Sherly's fears were realized. The hotel boss, who served as the general manager, appeared with a face creased with question marks.
It just so happened that he was about to leave the hotel to go home. But as he arrived at the hotel lobby, he saw a small commotion there.
He immediately approached them and inquired,
"What's going on, Sherly! Why is there trouble here?" the general manager asked in a flat tone.
"Mr. William! It's not what you think, just a small misunderstanding," Sherly replied fearfully.
The middle-aged man known as Mr. William looked alternately at Dion and the receptionist.
As soon as his eyes landed on the yellow object lying on the receptionist's table, he was very shocked, and he hurriedly approached and picked it up.
He briefly examined the card. After a moment, his body trembled, a sign that he recognized the card.
..."Who owns this card?" he asked nervously.
"Thi.. eh no, this person, sir." The receptionist replied apprehensively. She almost referred to Dion with a derogatory term, but stopped herself.
Mr. William glanced at Dion with furrowed brows, a sign of confusion about the situation.
It seemed impossible for Dion, dressed so shabbily, to be the owner of the said diamond card. Yet deep down, he felt he should believe it.
"Is this card truly yours?" William asked curiously.
"Verify it yourself. Only then can you judge me," Dion said flatly.
Hearing the casual reply, William's brow furrowed further, and he looked at Sherly curiously.
"Yes sir. He provided that card earlier, to make a payment for the room he wanted to book."
"What room did he wish to book?" William asked with interest.
"The presidential suite at the very top floor, sir."
"What!" William exclaimed in disbelief.
"Sherly! Check that card now! No more waiting!"
"Right away, sir." Sherly replied nervously.
Sherly quickly swiped the diamond card, after entering the nightly rental rate for the presidential suite times seven days. Soon, there was a "Ding" indicating a successful transaction.
Everyone present was stunned, disbelieving that the person they had belittled could actually pay such an amount for the room.
On the card reader machine, the amount of 1.75 billion rupiah was displayed for the payment of a seven-day stay at the hotel.
Mr. William, manager Sherly, the receptionist, and the other guests, were all shocked upon hearing that Dion had made payment for the most luxurious and expensive room in the hotel.
They themselves could not afford such a room. Let alone for seven days, even one day would be a consideration.
Their means only allowed for rentals at the deluxe level or one slightly above it. Clearly, Dion's background was not as simple as it appeared.
"Si.. si.. sir. Forgive our oversight in not serving you properly," William said tremulously.
He was shaking because he knew if someone held both a diamond and a black card, that person must be prioritized.
But what was happening in his hotel? The lofty cardholder was treated poorly, regarded as a vagabond, a beggar, and so on.
"Who was serving this honored guest earlier?"
All the receptionists present simultaneously turned their gaze to their colleague at the far end.
Under their scrutiny, the young woman became frightened.
"Was it you! Were you the one who served this gentleman disrespectfully?"
"Y..y..yes sir." That was all she could say, thereafter she fell silent, bowing her head in fear.
"Pack your things. You're fired, effective today! And your internship rights revoked. Leave!"
William spoke with uncompromising firmness, not allowing the girl a chance to respond.
"And for the rest of you, let this be a lesson, and you too, Sherly."
"Your position is demoted. You are now a regular staff member at this hotel!" William said with strong emotion.
Then William approached Dion with a respectful demeanor, bowing to him, and said,
"On behalf of myself and the staff, I apologize for the unpleasant service you've had to endure."
"To make amends for this, I personally will escort you to the room you have paid for," William spoke humbly in Dion's presence.
He did so because it was very rare to encounter a guest who could pay in full for the most expensive room in his hotel for a week,
an occurrence that had not happened in his entire career there.
Throughout his time working at that hotel, only a few world leaders' delegations, who frequented his hotel, could do the same. But they stayed for a maximum of three days, and even then at a discounted rate.
But today, an ordinary-seeming person had managed to pay for the most expensive room for a week; wasn't that extraordinary?
Realizing this, Mr. William tried to approach Dion under the pretext of apologizing, while secretly he had his own interests in mind.
He wanted to know who Dion truly was, and how an ordinary person like him could possess such a diamond card.
If only he had known Dion's true identity, he would not have dared to behave as he did towards him.
There are greedy people everywhere. Already wealthy, they seek to become wealthier. In power, they wish for more and perpetually so.
That applied to Mr. William. Although to date, he had freely led a hotel that was not his own. He was only trusted to manage it temporarily.
Once the true owner arrived, he would have to step down and become his assistant. That's what was expected to occur.
Whether today or another day, he must swallow the bitter pill, for the true owner of the hotel had arrived.
Shortly thereafter, Dion arrived at the luxurious room he had booked. Mr. William himself opened the door for him and served Dion.
His conduct was very compliant and submissive towards Dion, though his motives were unclear.
After placing Dion's few belongings in the opulent wardrobe, Mr. William opened the refrigerator and took out an expensive bottled water, which he offered to his esteemed guest.
Dion, who was treated with such special regard, felt uncomfortable. With furrowed brows, he watched a hotel general manager demean himself to serve him.
"Young master, pardon the question, and if it's impolite. May I inquire about your background?" William asked hesitantly.
"About that diamond card, right? How could I, looking like a vagabond, possess it. Is that it?" Dion challenged, hitting the nail on the head.
Mr. William, faced with such a direct and accurate question, stammered, not expecting Dion to guess his thoughts so accurately.
"Y..ye..yes, sir." He answered nervously.
"It's not yet time for you to know about me, and thank you for taking me to this room."
Dion cut the conversation short, desiring a quick end, as he had become tired from being hassled about his shabby appearance since morning.
He wished to rest and recover his strength, as well as clear his mind that had been disturbed all day.
"Very well, then, sir. I will take my leave!"
William realized it was inappropriate to linger and disturb his important guest any further.
"There will be another day." thought Mr. William rebelliously, then hurried out of Dion's room.
He himself, after working at that hotel, had never once slept in that special room, as it was taboo for hotel staff to enter, except for room service.
"Wow! Now's the time to enjoy the comfort of life that I've been missing."
