"What do you think, Sir? Are you interested?" the salesman asked, still enthusiastic.
"Well, this is tough. The car is definitely nice, but I don't have that kind of money. I only have $750,000 in my savings, there's no way I could afford such an expensive car," the man silently thought to himself, anxiety growing in his heart.
"Lilian! Let's check out some other cars first. I think the one over there looks better than this one," he suggested, making an excuse.
Muttering under her breath, the young woman named Lilian got up and walked towards the other car her partner was referring to.
As she passed by Dion, her annoyance intensified.
"What are you looking at! Scum." She sneered as she spat at Dion.
Feeling insulted, Dion was furious and wanted to strike the rude woman, but he restrained himself with all his might.
The man beside her said nothing. But when he saw Dion's clenched fist, he got angry.
"What sort of man are you! Picking on women. If you want to hit someone, fight me!" he said derisively.
Unable to vent his anger on a woman, the man became his target.
Slap!
"Teach your woman some manners! Don't be rude to others," Dion said angrily.
"How dare you...!"
Before he could finish his sentence, Dion gestured with his index finger at the man.
"Let's settle this outside when we're done here. I'm Dion, and I won't run. Just wait!" Dion threatened again.
The man who had been slapped was shocked. Never before had anyone dared to confront him, let alone slap him.
He was the heir to a powerful and wealthy family, the second-tier in city B. His family's behavior was formidable.
But the man who had slapped him was far more terrifying than he had imagined.
The people around were silent, finding it hard to believe that Dion had dared to provoke the heir of the infamous and ruthless Wills family.
The head manager of the car showroom arrived after being informed by his subordinates that there had been a disturbance on the main floor where the cars were displayed.
He hurried down to see what was happening and was shocked to find the heir of a rich and influential family in city B being intimidated by someone in shabby clothing.
"Stop!" he shouted, then he quickly approached the man being intimidated.
"Mr. Wills, I apologize for this incident. I will take care of this scoundrel," the manager confidently said.
He then called the security guards of the showroom. Four men promptly arrived in response to his call.
"Seize him! Break his arm for daring to hit Mr. Wills, our esteemed guest today," he shouted loudly.
"Wait! I came here to buy a car, but your employee was rude to me," Dion defended himself.
"Buy a car? What means do you have? A bum like you, can you afford a car? You couldn't even afford an electric bike," the manager scoffed arrogantly.
"I have money, and I can buy a car here, even the most expensive one," Dion retorted as he threw a gold-colored card at the manager's face.
Plunk!
There was a light sound as the object hit the floor.
"What's this?" the showroom manager thought, a bit fearful.
"T-this!" he exclaimed in shock.
"Swipe that card through the reader. I want to buy the car in that room."
"Honestly, I'm no longer interested in doing business at your showroom. But I need a car to go shopping. So hurry up and handle the transaction," Dion ordered angrily.
"You liar, braggart! Do you think holding that yellow card makes you rich? You can buy it online," Brian provocatively remarked.
"That's right, miss. This bum has been pretending to buy that car just to show off. With those shabby street-bought clothes, how could he afford such a luxury car?" the arrogant salesperson added with a fawning tone.
"Miss Jackline, this trash is only fantasizing about owning a car. But you must know, he's the discarded son-in-law. He was just thrown out by his ex-wife's family," Brian boasted, feeling proud.
"He scrounges for meals from his ex-wife every day. How could he possibly have money?" Brian explained, feeling superior.
Caught between belief and skepticism, the showroom manager was in a dilemma over whom to listen to.
As he was about to decide what to do, the director of the car showroom arrived, flanked by two bodyguards.
"What's going on here!" he bellowed, filling the room.
Everyone fell silent, including Brian, but only for a moment.
"Mr. Victor! It's good you're here. Otherwise, your reputable showroom would continue to be sullied by this worthless trash," Brian provoked.
"He's the discarded son-in-law of the Wolf family. He dreams of buying a car from your showroom. Do your best to make him think twice before coming here again," Brian continued.
Mr. Victor ignored Brian. He was more interested in Dion's challenge than in catering to Mr. Brian.
After being harshly rebuked, Mr. Brian felt offended and decided to leave the place.
As he walked out, he muttered, "Beware of being fooled by that bum."
"Alright then. If you can buy that car, I will kneel before you and call you 'brother'. But if you're lying, I will break your arm," Victor challenged Dion.
"Great! What's about you, Miss Sales?" Dion provoked.
"Me? Why me?" she protested.
"You've been doubting my capability. Are you also willing to bet with me?" Dion challenged her once more.
"Who's afraid? If you can buy that car, I will kneel at your feet and resign. But if you lose, you better damage that filthy mouth of yours," she replied.
"What about you, Manager? Are you willing to bet as well?" Dion asked with certainty.
"I-I wouldn't dare, sir," the manager replied, scared, because he recognized the significance of the gold card.
"Just wait. I will prove that I can buy this piece of junk car," Dion shouted angrily.
"Now, bring the card reader here! I want you to demonstrate that I have the means," Dion challenged confidently.
Hearing Dion's confident words, Director Victor was taken aback, then looked questioningly at his manager.
"Jackline! What card is this man talking about?" Victor demanded.
"Sir, it's his diamond card," Jackline responded nervously.
"What! A diamond card?" Victor asked as he snatched it from Jackline's hand.
As someone experienced in the upper echelon of society, of course, he knew the significance of the diamond card.
Not just anyone could possess such a card. If Dion owned it, it meant he had a background far from ordinary.
The director's body began to tremble. It was as if the sky had fallen on his head.
"Damn it! How could I be so careless? If I can't handle this, I'm finished," he mumbled to himself.
"Quick! Bring the card reader here. Hurry!" he shouted impatiently.
Soon after, a male employee arrived with the card reader.
Mr. Victor grabbed the device and swiped the card through the reader, and a "ping" sounded, indicating the transaction was successful.
Now his body was swaying. He dropped the card reader, but the employee quickly caught it.
