Bang..!
"This can't be possible. How could this happen? Who are you, really?" inquired Mr. Victor, shaking.
"This can't be! It just can't be! This must be a mistake," stammered the showroom salesman, his body starting to sweat.
"The machine must be broken. It can't be correct," someone else remarked.
Meanwhile, for Manager Jackline, it wasn't much of a surprise, though she was momentarily stunned and agape. She had known all along that this card was no ordinary card.
So when it was proven, it indeed turned out to be true.
"This is my chance to get closer to him, but would he be able to forgive me?" Jackline pondered in her heart.
"M-m-may I know who I am dealing with right now?" Mr. Victor asked, now adopting a respectful tone toward Dion.
"Doesn't the card bear my name, my account, and my personal data? You certainly know who I am."
"Yes, sir, you are right. Please, sir, follow me to my private office for your service," he said, trying to ingratiate himself.
"No need. Just handle the necessary car paperwork. I'll wait for 10 minutes. I'm in a hurry," Dion responded coolly.
"Right away, sir," he replied, casting a glance at Jackline.
The manager, understanding the boss's significant look, hurried off to prepare everything needed to get the car on the road that very day.
On the other hand, the showroom salesman could do nothing but stand there, rooted to the spot.
As his awareness worsened, after losing a bet to Dion, whom he had always looked down upon, he hoped for a miracle to change the situation.
But after waiting for several seconds, no miracle came; instead, more misfortune befell him.
Thump..!
The sound of a blunt object hitting the floor was heard. Dion turned to look in that direction. There, the previously haughty Mr. Victor appeared, now kneeling before him.
"M-m-mister, please forgive my offense. I've been too dismissive of others. Starting today, I shall not be arrogant anymore."
Seeing the showroom boss kneel, the arrogant salesman also knelt, hoping for forgiveness from the man he had mocked throughout the day.
"B-b-brother, please accept this humble salute from your lesser sibling," said Victor still trembling on his knees, his plea genuine.
"M-m-mister, I was wrong. Please forgive me. I promise not to repeat such poor behavior. Please, forgive me," he implored, earnestly pressing his forehead to the ground three times.
"For you, Victor, stand up! I accept your respect. You'll be useful to me in the future."
"And for you, miss saleswoman...!" Dion stopped for a moment, pointing at another girl who had stood silent all this while, then continued, "Reward her with the commission from this car sale; she tried to defend me earlier."
"And for you, haughty girl...!" Dion suspended his speech again, increasing the dread of the indicated saleswoman.
"As you promised. What should you do now?" Dion looked at Victor, signaling him to request something.
Realizing the unusual nature of the look directed at him, Victor understood that Dion wanted more action for the haughty saleswoman.
Brushing the negligible dust from his hands, Victor spoke to the arrogant saleswoman.
"From this day forward, you are terminated. Your salary will be deducted to compensate for my disrespectful behavior towards an important customer."
"But sir..?"
"Silence!" Victor snapped, halting any objections raised toward him.
"Leave this place at once!" he yelled forcefully.
With shaky steps, the saleswoman left, weeping and regretting her actions.
"And for you, Rhina. Collect your bonus from the finance department immediately!" Victor ordered her.
"Thank you, sir," she expressed joyfully, bowing to Victor and Dion before walking away.
Meanwhile, Mr. Wills, on hearing about a diamond card in the room, especially one belonging to the man he had tried to provoke earlier, began to tremble.
Having wide connections in high society, he knew what a diamond card meant. If Dion owned such a card, it meant his status was far above his own.
As far as he knew, in city B, or perhaps in the entire country, there were only three holders of such a card. It meant he could not afford to offend him.
Then, in a rush, he approached Dion and said,
"S-sir, today I've learned that 'there is always a higher sky above.' Forgive our rough behavior earlier, especially my woman's ignorance."
"Honey.!. What's the point of apologizing to him? A bum will always be a bum!"
Slap!
"Apologize quickly! Or I'll finish you," Mr. Wills threatened, highly emotional.
Instead of support, Lilian received a harsh slap.
"You slapped me to defend that bum!"
Slap!
"Still not getting it, are you? Leave!" he shouted while pushing Lilian roughly.
Lilian stumbled backward, her face pale, not expecting to receive such rough treatment from her partner.
As Dion and onlookers witnessed this drama, they remained silent. But a second later, he spoke up,
"Shall we take care of our business outside, Mr. Wills?"
"I...i...I dare not, sir. There are no issues left for me. So please, afford me some grace," Mr. Wills stammered, fearfully meeting Dion's gaze.
Dion looked silently at Mr. Wills's trembling figure before him.
"Hmmm. This man could be of use to me in the future," he thought.
"Alright, Mr. Wills. Today, you are forgiven. But you must do something for me," Dion's statement trailed off.
"I will let you know what you need to do in due time."
"Thank you, sir. Just call me Wills. I'm under you now," Wills said, humbling himself.
Dion was pleased with this declaration, then turned his attention to Victor, who had stood up from his kneeling position.
"I, too, will work for you, brother. Whatever task you assign, I will execute it, for my boss."
While they might not yet entirely understand who Dion was or his background, they were already submissive and obedient. And they would be even more so once they discovered Dion's true identity.
"Here is my business card, sir. If you need my assistance, call this number," Wills said, adopting a formal tone by shifting from 'I' to 'you' when addressing Dion.
"I also offer this to you, boss," Victor also changed his address from 'brother' to 'boss' in reference to Dion, while handing out his business card.
Dion accepted both cards and placed them in his pocket.
At that moment, the showroom manager arrived, hurriedly heading toward them, and handing a blue folder to Dion.
"Thank you," Dion said flatly, without looking any further.
Shortly afterwards, Dion was driving his Lamborghini down the streets, enjoying the perks of being wealthy.
People passing by were astounded at the sight of the Lamborghini and scrambled to capture it with their cell phones, posting it on social media.
The Lamborghini Dion drove was the only one of its kind in city B.
The news had spread even before the car arrived – the showroom had announced the imminent arrival of an elegant, latest model Lamborghini.
The announcement certainly intrigued the wealthy, who were keen to own it. But once they learned of its sky-high price, they backed off orderly.
But today, they all witnessed the car that had become the talk of the town, cruising the streets.
They wondered who the lucky person might be to possess it. Certainly someone extraordinary, they thought.
Meanwhile, Dion continued his drive, aware of the people photographing him openly, but he remained indifferent.
Instead of engaging with their antics, he chose to keep driving through the now-busy streets as office workers started dispersing from their jobs.
Soon, the photos and videos they had taken went viral and became a trending topic on social media.
Many envied the sight, and many sneered, presuming it was probably a used car.
"Wonder who the owner is. I want to be his girlfriend."
"I want to be his mistress."
"I'd be his wife, no matter which number I'd be."
"Handsome! Let us ride with you."
"I'm fine with that..!
"Don't agree, pick me. I'd serve the handsome with all my heart," chattered socialite girls, as well as passersby, whether in cars or on foot, or those sitting in the scattered cafes along the street. They fell in love at first sight with the car.
No one remained uninterested in the new Lamborghini model. Everyone fell for it.
"Huuh..!" Dion sighed, shaking his head at the girls' remarks.
"So this is what it's like to be rich. Poor you, Dion. Where have you been all this time?" Dion mused inwardly with a wry smile.
