Dion sprawled out on the ultra-luxurious bed, taking in a sweeping gaze around the room. Spectacular!
He then rose from his bed, wandering around to inspect every part of the room he had rented.
In the Presidential suite he had rented, Dion's eyes widened in astonishment. Before him stood something he had never encountered.
The luxury amenities were abundant. The suite itself contained three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
Luxurious Frette bedding and pillows dressed each bed, and nearby stood a salon.
There were two living rooms, including one equipped with a baby grand piano.
A large dining table stood in the dining room. There was also a fridge stocked with a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and ample complimentary snacks.
A small kitchen with a dry bar pantry was present. A freezer for storing frozen goods and a microwave were in place, along with a Nespresso machine and a selection of Yellow Gold Tea Buds and Wuyi tea.
Three luxurious microfiber bathrooms from Hermes boasted glass-walled showers and jacuzzis. There were microfiber bathrobes, terry robes, and hair dryers.
A media room featured a wide-screen TV for karaoke.
A gym came with fitness equipment, a massage room, and steam and sauna facilities.
An executive work desk, a versatile printer, an iPod or phone docking station with an alarm and radio were all included, along with an in-suite safe, complimentary laundry services, not to forget an iron and its board.
There was even a private swimming pool. Bullet-proof windows, and 3 artistic balconies complemented with opulent furniture were some of the other luxuries.
"No wonder it's so incredibly expensive," Dion murmured softly.
"Is this my hotel?"
"Dion, Dion. Being shunned by your ex-family might actually be a blessing. Otherwise, you'd still be Dion, the worthless son-in-law, always deemed useless," he silently monologued.
After thoroughly exploring his suite, Dion decided to take a shower, noticing the clock was already striking 6:30. His stomach was beginning to demand his attention.
Post-shower, he opened the fridge and grabbed some snacks and water to tide his hunger over.
At 7 p.m., Dion contacted room service, requesting food be delivered to his room. He was too reluctant to dine at the hotel's restaurant tonight.
Soon after, his order arrived, brought by seven attractive waitresses.
Once they left, Dion was left staring in awe at the array of dishes before him.
"How am I supposed to finish all this?" he wondered with a head shake that indicated confusion.
"Ah well, eat up. Enjoy it while it lasts. The leftovers can be for later," he thought.
The menu delivered to his room was extensive, ranging from a wagyu beef burger, sandwiches, Australian lobster bisque. Beef tenderloin salad, tofu, spinach, natto, miso soup, buffalo mozzarella, and white snapper.
Local traditional foods like tuna gohu, fish eggs, basil leaves, crushed nuts, and pecel flower.
Beef lamban and chicken satay, wheat crab, squid, mushroom pasta, chicken soup, and importantly, rice.
Without further thought, Dion eagerly ate, his first encounter with five-star hotel and high-class restaurant food.
After eating, Dion wanted to check his old-fashioned phone. Just then, it vibrated with an incoming call.
Glancing briefly, he saw it was Ivory Sanders calling.
"What's up? You remember someone bullied from the bank to the hotel?" Dion said, cutting to the chase.
Ivory furrowed her brow on the other end before speaking up.
"Did you get poor service at the bank?"
"Not just poor, but terrible. I was insulted, attacked, even accused of theft by the bank employees. Damn it!" he exclaimed, frustrated.
"I've contacted the bank's president. Didn't he meet with you?"
"He came late, but the issue is resolved. Five people were the casualties of that incident. Fired!"
"They deserved it," Ivory answered with satisfaction.
"Why call me now?" Dion sounded disappointed with Ivory.
"Sorry if I rushed back to city J earlier. The boss called. There's urgent business that needed immediate attention there," Ivory defended herself.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow morning to meet with the boss. There's urgent business that we must address immediately."
"Fine! I also want to meet with the grandfather, to see for myself, this feared man. Could he actually eat people?" Dion joked.
"Stop messing around, sir. Hahaha," Ivory laughed through the phone.
"You're picking me up? You know where I'm staying?" Dion asked, puzzled.
"Of course not. Your location can't be tracked since your phone doesn't come with GPS," Ivory replied calmly.
"Tomorrow you must buy a new phone, available in city B's many stores," Ivory said with a hint of insistence.
"Alright. Pick me up at the Southeast Sky Hotel."
"What! You're staying at that hotel?
"That hotel is in your name and you own it. Has anyone recognized you as the owner?"
"No, they don't know who I am, except for the general manager, but he's just guessing because of the diamond card you gave me," Dion replied nonchalantly.
"Of course. There are only three people in this country with that diamond card. If you used it to reserve a hotel room, no wonder they're suspicious."
"After you meet with the grandfather tomorrow, that's when you'll receive the transfer of power and ownership of all assets and companies, among other properties," Ivory explained.
"Alright! Contact me when you're at the hotel."
Click! The phone hung up, Dion cutting it off unilaterally, not waiting for Ivory to respond to his last remark.
On the other end, Ivory fumed at such indifference.
"Huh... Such an insensitive young master," she muttered to herself.
Wow... What's this about? Ivory Sanders, the strong independent woman who never gets close to anyone, known for her icy demeanor—all of a sudden requiring attention. But from whom? Dion? Perhaps.
For Dion, after terminating the call abruptly, he thought to himself.
"Ivory seems nice. Maybe I could get to know her slowly. But, there's Emily. No, she's pure and kind. I don't feel anything for her right now."
"Forget it, Dion. Focus, just keep focusing," he told himself.
"When you officially become the ruler, everything will fall into place," he reassured himself.
Dion smiled to himself in his room, imagining the reactions of Jasmine, his ex-wife, and her family, if they ever learned of his current status.
"Will they still see me as trash and a useless loser. Just wait, the payback will be more painful," Dion said, his face tensing.
Without realizing it, time had slipped away to 9:30 p.m. Dion felt tired after a day filled with physically and mentally draining activities.
He decided to rest and sleep, but the leftover food on the table still occupied his mind.
"Ah, just leave it," he figured.
Yet, he moved to the dining table to store the unfinished food in the fridge. He planned to eat it the next morning, or if hunger struck in the middle of the night.
Yet what happened was by 6:30 a.m., Dion had not woken up from his deep sleep, evidently exhausted.
