- Shut up and help me, Ayato! (Said Laito, as he came closer to the body)

Brittany was still reeling from what happened, she watched the vampires as they planned to get rid of the body and kill the murderer. She froze. It wasn't until she felt Subaru's hand around her wrist that she came to her senses. As he tried to lead her away, she felt something like an electric shock from his touch.

- Wait, you're not going to get rid of me just like that, without any explanation... (Said Brittany)

- For heaven's sake, stop resisting for once and follow me! Don't you realize you're in danger? Come on! (Said Subaru angrily)

Brittany eventually let Subaru lead her by the wrist. After glancing one last time at the motionless body of the young women in the green dress, she followed Subaru through the living room. At one point Subaru's hand slipped, but then he quickly tightened his grip over Brittany's. They made their way up the staircase, down the long corridor and into the room Brittany had woken up in the very beginning of the evening.

- Here, I don't know if you've found it yet, but the key to this room is in the right drawer of the dressing table. Lock the door and close the curtains. Most importantly, don't open up for anyone besides me. (Said Subaru)

- Not even the others? (Asked Brittany)

- You never know... I trust them, but... I don't want to take any risks. Wait for me, please. (Said Subaru)

- But... (Said Brittany)

- It would make me feel better. Please. (Said Subaru. He really looked worried and Brittany saw that in his eyes.)

- Okay, I'll wait until you come back. But I've had enough of being treated like a piece of furniture. I want you to tell me exactly what happened, am I being clear? (Said Brittany confidently)

- You know... sometimes it gets on my nerves... but for once, I find your stubbornness... reassuring. (Said Subaru)

Brittany wasn't sure if she should take that as a compliment... But it sounded like one to her.

- I'm going to go back now. I don't want to leave the others alone for too long. (Said Subaru)

- Okay... But Subaru... (Said Brittany)

- Yes? (Asked Subaru)

- Do you know who might have...  (Asked Brittany)

- I really don't know anything about what happened, trust me. If I did, I wouldn't be rushing to find the killer in the manor.... Try to rest a bit, if you can. I promise I'll take care of things as quickly as possible. (Said Subaru)

Subaru suddenly squeezed Brittany's hand again. It was so quick that she hardly felt it. Then he turned on his heels and left the room, shutting the door behind him. Brittany was alone in the middle of the room. Remembering Subaru's advice, she went looking for the key to lock the door. She felt a bit better when she heard a reassuring click after turning the key. Feeling a bit weak, she fell onto the bed and realized that her hands were trembling. Brittany pressed them one against the other to calm herself, keeping her eyes on the door. Brittany knew that she would be spending most of the night in this position.

What actually happened in the living room? Who could of done such a terrible thing? And how could they have sneaked in and done the job without anyone noticing or sensing anything? Brittany couldn't help wondering about one thing, a horrible question in her mind... Who was the killer really after? Brittany was going to have to wait all night for Subaru to come back to get some real answers...
