A Lost Love Rekindled
Jessica was nothing special, at least that is what she had always been told. She had just turned 18 and was looking forward to attending university where she would be studying hospitality and tourism. She had dreams of running her own hotel, a little boutique establishment that made people feel special.
Her boring brown hair, was thick and frizzy, she was plain looking. Her dull brown eyes looked back at her in the mirror. Today was going to be different, today she was going to get something she wanted. She carefully applied her make-up, pulled her hair in to a neat bun and eyed the red dress she had hung up on her bedroom door.
Once dressed she left her room and made her way downstairs to be greeted by her mother.
'good luck sweetheart'
'thanks mum, I doubt I'll get anything, but it would be great for university to have some experience in the field that I am going to study. Having experience over the other students will give me an advantage. I am so excited.'
'What time are you meeting Fiona?' her mother asked. Fiona was Jessica's best friend, she was much more outgoing than Jessica and was more popular, blonde, blue eyed and perfectly proportioned she was also more attractive to the opposite sex, boys would always make a bee line for Fiona, or pretend to be interested in Jessica to find out what their chances where with Fiona. They had been Friends since they where four. Jessica had always been the socially awkward of the two and found it difficult to make friends, she had suffered bullying through school and it had made her retreat in to herself. She did not want to stand out. But today was different she wanted to stand out and be seen.
'We are meeting outside the interview venue, its the Royal George Hotel in the main street, the White group have purchased it and they are running the interviews for the new hotel there.'
'Jess are you sure your Dad can't drop you in to town, save you walking so far, he has to go and get your brother from the train station so it wouldn't be a problem for him to drop you?'
'thanks mum, but I want to walk to give myself time to prepare for my interview and clear my head.'
Jessica begun to put on her shoes, she had chosen a sensible shoe, that would be comfortable to walk in and still look stylish. She felt confident and smart, she was going to rock this interview.
what Jessica didn't realise was just how attractive she actually was. She had a shapely figure, that was filled out in all the right places, her brown hair was full of flecks of gold that glittered in the light. while she considered her hair frizzy, it was actually a slight curl that made it look effortless. Her brown eyes caught the light and flashed shades of bronze, if she had known how attractive she was to the opposite sex she could of ruled the world.
years of bullying had made her belive she was nothing special. That she was less than others, that she was no better than the mud on the bottom of their shoes. The only person who told her how attractive she was, was Fiona. Jessica just didn't believe her friend, and thought it was just unconditional love that blinded her friend to her faults. What Jessica also didn't realise was that all the boys where actually asking her out, and this is what made the other girls become resentful towards her, and continued to fuel her bullying.
Jessica was lost in her thoughts as she walked along the road towards the venue. The highstreet was empty, the bakery was just opening the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air, just across the road was the George Hotel, she was a little early but was please she was one of the first in the queue. She scanned around looking for Fiona but there was no sign of her. An older lady had got in the line first, she looked to be in her late 30's, and was dressed in a very smart black pencil suit, it made Jessica feel a little intimidated and childish, she had chosen to wear her red dress because it made her feel confident, but looking at the other woman she suddenly felt uncomfortable with her choice of clothing.
A young man was next to arrive, he was tall and a little scruffy looking. He was wearing a blue t-shirt that showed his toned body and a pair of ripped jeans, his blonde hair was all over the place, he appeared as if he had been out all night, and smelled faintly of alcohol and stubble adorned his face.
Jessica couldn't help but feel a little shocked by his appearance, how could someone turn up for a Job interview wearing that, and possibly after partying all night. Also how dare, he be so handsome, she couldn't help but look at him. He was dangerous she could tell, no man should look that good wearing scruffy clothes. She felt her self blushing as she realised he was watching her admiring him, she met his green eyes which seemed to burn with the intensity of life. She knew at that moment she was in trouble.
He held out a hand and Introduced himself
'Hi, I'm Dean.'
