Jessica was nothing special, at least that is what she had always been told. She had just turned 18 and was looking forward to attending university where she would be studying hospitality and tourism. She had dreams of running her own hotel, a little boutique establishment that made people feel special.
Her boring brown hair, was thick and frizzy, she was plain looking. Her dull brown eyes looked back at her in the mirror. Today was going to be different, today she was going to get something she wanted. She carefully applied her make-up, pulled her hair in to a neat bun and eyed the red dress she had hung up on her bedroom door.
Once dressed she left her room and made her way downstairs to be greeted by her mother.
'good luck sweetheart'
'thanks mum, I doubt I'll get anything, but it would be great for university to have some experience in the field that I am going to study. Having experience over the other students will give me an advantage. I am so excited.'
'What time are you meeting Fiona?' her mother asked. Fiona was Jessica's best friend, she was much more outgoing than Jessica and was more popular, blonde, blue eyed and perfectly proportioned she was also more attractive to the opposite sex, boys would always make a bee line for Fiona, or pretend to be interested in Jessica to find out what their chances where with Fiona. They had been Friends since they where four. Jessica had always been the socially awkward of the two and found it difficult to make friends, she had suffered bullying through school and it had made her retreat in to herself. She did not want to stand out. But today was different she wanted to stand out and be seen.
'We are meeting outside the interview venue, its the Royal George Hotel in the main street, the White group have purchased it and they are running the interviews for the new hotel there.'
'Jess are you sure your Dad can't drop you in to town, save you walking so far, he has to go and get your brother from the train station so it wouldn't be a problem for him to drop you?'
'thanks mum, but I want to walk to give myself time to prepare for my interview and clear my head.'
Jessica begun to put on her shoes, she had chosen a sensible shoe, that would be comfortable to walk in and still look stylish. She felt confident and smart, she was going to rock this interview.
what Jessica didn't realise was just how attractive she actually was. She had a shapely figure, that was filled out in all the right places, her brown hair was full of flecks of gold that glittered in the light. while she considered her hair frizzy, it was actually a slight curl that made it look effortless. Her brown eyes caught the light and flashed shades of bronze, if she had known how attractive she was to the opposite sex she could of ruled the world.
years of bullying had made her belive she was nothing special. That she was less than others, that she was no better than the mud on the bottom of their shoes. The only person who told her how attractive she was, was Fiona. Jessica just didn't believe her friend, and thought it was just unconditional love that blinded her friend to her faults. What Jessica also didn't realise was that all the boys where actually asking her out, and this is what made the other girls become resentful towards her, and continued to fuel her bullying.
Jessica was lost in her thoughts as she walked along the road towards the venue. The highstreet was empty, the bakery was just opening the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air, just across the road was the George Hotel, she was a little early but was please she was one of the first in the queue. She scanned around looking for Fiona but there was no sign of her. An older lady had got in the line first, she looked to be in her late 30's, and was dressed in a very smart black pencil suit, it made Jessica feel a little intimidated and childish, she had chosen to wear her red dress because it made her feel confident, but looking at the other woman she suddenly felt uncomfortable with her choice of clothing.
A young man was next to arrive, he was tall and a little scruffy looking. He was wearing a blue t-shirt that showed his toned body and a pair of ripped jeans, his blonde hair was all over the place, he appeared as if he had been out all night, and smelled faintly of alcohol and stubble adorned his face.
Jessica couldn't help but feel a little shocked by his appearance, how could someone turn up for a Job interview wearing that, and possibly after partying all night. Also how dare, he be so handsome, she couldn't help but look at him. He was dangerous she could tell, no man should look that good wearing scruffy clothes. She felt her self blushing as she realised he was watching her admiring him, she met his green eyes which seemed to burn with the intensity of life. She knew at that moment she was in trouble.
He held out a hand and Introduced himself
'Hi, I'm Dean.'
Dean White was bored, he was bored of his life, he was bored of the people he knew, he was bored.
Deans father was a hotel magnate, he had grown up around a swathe of different people and locations at 24 he had seen most things and done most things. He was expected to follow in his fathers footsteps and eventually take over the family business, he had just finished his business degree, and had agreed to enter the family firm in the traditional way by working his way up the ladder. Though his father's idea of a low level position was to give him the restaurant of the latest hotel to run, to prove he had management skills. Unfortunately for Dean he would be working with his latest step mother Denise.
When Dean was younger and his father was beginning his hotel business, they had run a small seaside hotel resort on the south coast. It had been Idyllic, his mum and dad were happy they had a lovely little family unit, his older brother and little sister always together. He remembered the good times it was perfect until the accident.
It was a normal day, nothing remarkable about it. The sea was calm and flat, just right for a day out on the boat. The family had packed a picnic and had set out to the mooring. Dean had been poorly and had been left with his grandparents to recover, so he had not gone on the trip with the rest of the family. A few hours later Dean was woken by a massive commotion, he could hear lots of people shouting, there where flashing lights and sirens. Still in a half sleep state he felt his grandfather, a usually stern man lift him up in to a tight hug his face was wet with tears. His grandfather placed him on the sofa and knelt in front of him..
'I am so sorry my boy, but your mum, brother and sister won't be comming home, they are no longer with us. Your Dad is in the hospital and we don't know if he will make it through the night, would you like to go and say goodbye just incase?'
Dean being only 8 at the time really did not understand what was happening, he was bundled in to a car still in his pyjamas. They arrived at the hospital after a short drive and where ushered through to the critical care ward where his dad was lying in a bed covered in tubes and drips, a very scary sight for anyone. Dean looked towards his grandparents who reassured him, in a daze he walked towards his dad and quietly got up on the bed next to him. The doctor on duty tried to stop him but a arm came up and around Dean and held him tight. Both parent and child where at ease being next to each other, the doctors where relieved the guy who had given up because he had lost his wife and children was trying to live for his Son who was now fast asleep in the crook of his arm. Dean had never realised it but he had saved his dads life that night.
Deans father had recovered quickly and remarried within a year of the accident. The woman was much older and very rich. Dean found himself shipped off to boarding school, while still grieving for his family. He was expelled from several of them, by the time he was 15 his first step mother had passed away, leaving his dad millions. This was when his dad began to build the White empire, and suddenly became a very eligible bachelor. Dean had been allowed to go to a local school, it was still private but at least he got to live at home with his father. It was great for a while till the endless parade of women began to appear. It was difficult enough being a teenager but when your dad was bringing home hot young women it was even more difficult. It was a few years before his dad settled down with someone again. Dean has just turned 17 he has begun to excel in his studies and had gone to university a year earlier. Her name was Helen.
Helen was only 3 years older than Dean, he had come home for the summer break and found his dad had moved his new fiance in to the house, after a very short acquaintance. The house was full of wedding preparation, and it came as a complete shock to Dean, he felt betrayed that his dad had not told him.
The first time Dean met Helen, was at dinner that night she was crass and brassy, but he could see why his dad was attracted to her, she was stunning. Her long blonde hair fell down her back, she had legs that went on for days, and her cleavage was huge. It made him feel physically sick to be attracted to his future stepmother. But his dad seamed happy so he tried to just get on with it.
His dad was making him work over the holidays at the office, he had a new secretary called Denise who was kind and just a few years younger than his father she was a complete contrast to Helen, also Dean felt more comfortable in her presence. She was also smart and could give his dad a run for his money. He had wanted Denise to be his stepmother from the moment he met her, they formed a bond that he had missed, he felt like her son.
Dean had returned from work early that day, though he was not happy about facing Helen, she had begun comming on to him when his dad was not around it made him feel uncomfortable, as his body was attracted to her, it let him down. He put his car keys down on the hallway table and made his way to his bedroom, opening the door he found Helen spread ***** on his bed. His seventeen year old self was letting him down, he felt himself getting aroused. she started to move towards him till she was pressing her ***** body against him, and begun kissing his neck. He froze, not knowing what to do, she was letting out little giggles of glee and he could feel himself getting hard inside his trousers. He was trapped against the wall with no where to go. He felt her undoing his trousers and freeing his now fully hard man hood, running her hand up and down his erect shaft. He wasn't unexperienced but this was a situation he did not want.
The front door slammed shut, he heard his dad enter the property, he screamed at the top of his lungs for his dad. There was running footsteps and shouting he felt Helen being pulled away from him screeching like a banshee, he fell to the floor sweating. She had dug her nails in hard before letting go of him, he was half crying in shame and pain. He felt arms around him they where soft comforting and calming, he let himself be hugged. It was Denise that was holding him, like a mother would hold their injured child. His dad was busy still fighting the screaming banshee Helen. He sobbed in to Denise till he couldn't cry anymore.
Helen was taken away in a police car and charged with assault. Denise was there for both of the White men, and it wasn't long before friendship developed in to deeper feelings for his dad and Denise. They where a perfect fit for each other, and Dean respected her. They got married a few years later as Denise kept refusing his father. She was now his dads right hand and was in charge of new hotel development.
She was also aware of how Dean had slept around and partied. She was very close to her step son, and he was grateful for her guidance. He was looking forward to working with her on this new hotel but he was also so bored. all the people his age where idiots and every one older was incredibly dull. Then he saw the girl in the red dress, he had just got back from a party and was still a little drunk, he remembered that it was the interviews today, he was in trouble with Denise for partying all night so what would be a little more trouble of being late. He had watched her from the corner walking up the road, she was mind blowing, to him she stood out, she was different and not boring he had to find out about her. She stopped outside the interview venue, and he saw a chance he walked up and stood next to her
'Hi I'm Dean.'.
The scruffy looking young man that had approached Jessica, smiled and introduced himself as Dean. She was unsure of how to reply, finding herself looking at him up and down she felt incredibly attracted to him she hadn't really felt an extreme attraction to someone before. Jessica had had crushes on her fellow classmates but they had never lasted long when the boy she crushed on joined in with the bullying. This was differen't she literally wanted to jump him there and then. He was insanely attractive, his dark hair all over the place and green eyes that seamed to reach in to her soul. She found herself staring at his lips they were full, surrounded by stubble she really just wanted to kiss him. Even though he smelt faintly of alcohol the scent of his cologne was intoxicating to her, she found it difficult to form words.
'I'm Jessica', she stuttered.
He held out his hand and she took it shaking it in return, she felt electricity flowing between them.
'I am here for the Interview, what position are you hoping to get Jessica?'
'Um, I really don't mind, I am going to university to study Tourism and leisure. I really want to have my own boutique hotel eventually, I just want to get some work experience in before I go to university and working for the White group will give me a head start.'
'Well that sounds like a plan, I took business for my degree, but I started a year earlier. It's good to get some experience in the field you want to work in, but won't it be for long if your going to university will it?'
' I thought about that so I am taking a gap year, earn a bit of money as well as get some experience before I take my place at university, what position are you hoping to get?'
'Well...' before Dean could finish his sentence a middle aged woman came running over to him, she was dressed in a suit that barely fitted her, her blouse was pulling at the buttons because it was far too small.
'Dean where have you been, Denise is going nuclear, your late and your room wasn't slept in last night, go and get yourself ready before she actually blows up. It's already a code blue, she's on the f word so run, please.' the plump woman looked Jessica up and down with a suspicious eye as if it was her fault that this man was late for whatever it was Denise wanted him for.
He turned towards Jessica and apologised for the interruption in their conversation and promised to see her very soon. she found herself waving at him like a total dweeb.
at that moment Fiona came running towards her pushing through the line of people that had begun to form.
'Oh my god Jess do you know who you where just talking too? '
Jessica nodded her head from side to side and shrugged her shoulders.
'It was Dean White, you where talking to Dean White. Oh my god so cool, what was he like, he is so gorgeous. What did he say to you?'
Jessica felt her heart sink, she had basically been gawping at her boss, a very top boss, the son of Gordon White the hotel magnate. Holy shit, she was attracted to possibly the most eligible bachelor in history. She guessed that he wouldn't even give her the time of day, and he was just stood casually talking to her as if he was another candidate. How would she be able to look at him, was he going to be doing the interviews, if so was she doomed?
Fiona was still chattering away beside her, and gesturing her mobile towards Jessica's face.
'Look Jess, he was at club ZiZi last night, wow look at the women he is with they are so gorgeous. Do you think they are model's or socialites or pop stars.'
Jess looked at the phone as Fiona held it and scrolled down the pictures, there where plenty of him with different women kissing him, or hanging off his arm he looked like a typical playboy, and quite clearly was one. she also noticed that he was wearing the same clothes he had on the night before. That's why he smelt of booze she thought to herself.
She new now what sort of person Dean was, she was not going to let her attraction to him stop her from seeing what a complete ladies man he was. she needed to keep a clear head and get through the interview. She really wanted to get a job at the new hotel, she wanted to see how a team was built and how a new place started out. It was more than just a job for her.
It wasn't long before herself and Fiona were let in to the lobby of the hotel, they where seeing people in groups of 10. Fiona and Jessica where split up from each other, they wished each other good luck and made there way to their destinations. Jessica was instructed to go to a room towards the back of the hotel she was the first to arrive and told to take a seat while waiting for the other candidates to arrive.
It was then she saw Dean again, this time he was dressed in a designer suit that was obviously tailor made, as it fitted his form very well. She felt her heart fluttering in her chest, she couldn't stop watching him. His top button was undone and his tie was hanging loosely around his neck. He lifted his head and smiled at her, she knew that he was dangerous but she couldn't help but smile back.
