In Liam’s penthouse, Liam and
Caroline walked in together. Caroline glanced at Liam who remained with a poker
face. Liam just went to his room and completely ignored Caroline. Caroline
walked to her room and got ready for bed. The next day, Liam was having
breakfast when Caroline walked in the dining room. “Good morning,” he greeted. Caroline
replied as she sat on her seat, “good morning.”
After having breakfast, Caroline
was about to leave when Liam said, “come to my office when you get off work.”
Caroline nodded, grabbed her purse, and left. Today Caroline wore a baby blue
blazer over a white blouse and baby blue trouser. She also wore some white five-inch
stilettos and a white Prada handbag. She put on some gold studs and a golden
watch. Liam wore a gray suit with a baby blue shirt, a brown tie, some brown leather
shoes, and a Rolex on his wrist.
In her office, Caroline was
scrolling through her Newser account when she saw that her fight with Sofia was
trending. When she clicked on the video it showed an error. The video had been
taken down. Caroline tried again but no luck. She let out a sigh of relief. All
the videos and photos of her and the fight were taken down. Caroline decided to
put her phone down and continued her work.
The night before, Liam had asked
Marcus to take down the videos and photos of Caroline’s fight with Sofia.
Marcus is an efficient assistant after all. When Caroline was gathering her belongings
to go to lunch, she received text message from Liam, “I’m outside.”
Caroline was not planning on
meeting him, but she remembered that he bailed her out yesterday. She decided
to do what he says, for now. Caroline went outside of the building and got on
the familiar Rolls Royce. “Where are we going?” Caroline asked. “To have lunch,”
Liam replied. Marcus drove to Liam’s parents’ penthouse. “I thought we were
going to your penthouse,” said Caroline as Liam opened the door for her. Caroline
got out of the car and Liam said, “today we are having lunch with Dante and
Gabriella.” They got on the elevator together and went to the top floor of the
building.
In the foyer, Gabriella noticed
their arrival and happily greeted them. “Hello, Caroline, Liam.”
“Hello, Gabriella. How are you?”
Gabriella hugged Caroline. “I’m good, dear. And you?”
“I’m good.” Gabriella hugged Liam
as she greeted him. “You are just in time. The food was about to be served.” They
started making their way towards the dining room after greeting Dante. After sitting
down at the table, the food was served.
As they were eating the meal
Caroline asked, “who named Liam?” Caroline had been asking herself this for a
while. He has an Italian surname, yet his name is not Italian. “Oh, I named
him. Since Liam was going to have Dante’s surname, we decided that I would give
him his first name,” Gabriella explained. “That makes sense,” Caroline replied.
Dante jested, “I tried convincing her into giving Liam an Italian name, but she
is stubborn as a mule.” Caroline giggled.
“Caroline, have you ever been to
Italy?” Gabriella asked and Caroline responded, “yes, I have.”
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it? I
remember how much I loved living there,” Gabriella spoke. “Oh? You lived
there?” Gabriella responded Caroline’s question, “yes after Dante proposed to
me, I found out I was pregnant with Liam and we decided to get married. We
lived there until Liam was six years old. Then, we moved here.” Caroline turned
to look at Liam and commented, “I didn’t know you were born and partly raised
in Italy.”
“There are many things you don’t
know about me.” Caroline leaned closer to him and whispered, “enlightened me,
then.”
After having lunch with Liam and
his parents, Liam took Caroline to the mall she went with Persephone yesterday.
“What are we doing here?” Caroline asked. “I’m accompanying you, so you don’t
get into a mess like yesterday,” Liam replied. Caroline rolled her eyes when
Liam got out of the car. She opened her door and got off the luxurious car. They
were walking around the mall when they passed by Sofia’s store. Sofia spotted
Caroline and went to give her a piece of her mind.
“Caroline! You have some nerve
coming here again,” said Sofia as she strutted towards her. Caroline turned
around and sneered. Sofia was trying to pick another fight. “Technically you
said I couldn’t go to your store anymore. You never said I couldn’t come to the
mall.” Caroline replied. “Don’t get smart with me,” Sofia said as she pointed
her finger at Carline. Caroline slapped Sofia’s hand away. Liam went in front
of Caroline and said, “you have one week to leave this spot.” Sofia was
confused. “What?” Liam’s cold expression made Sofia take a step back.
Caroline was also confused. She
moved to his side to be able to look at him. “One week,” he repeated as his
face portrayed a little anger. Sofia became kind of frightened by the man’s
tone and expression. Sofia got the courage to talk back to Liam and asked, “what
do you mean? This is my store.” Liam replied, “this is my mall. You have four
days.” Caroline’s eyes widened. “This is his mall? Since when?” Caroline
wondered. Sofia was also in shock. “You can’t do that.” Seeing Sofia frustrated
made Caroline smile. “Actually, he can. This is his mall after all.” Caroline grabbed
Liam’s arm and walked away with him. She turned around and reminded Sofia, “you
have four days.”
Sofia just entered her store in fury.
She was still not going to believe Liam, much less Caroline. “Sofia you need to
see this,” said Sara as she was reading an email on the computer. Sofia went
over to Sara and read the email. In the email, it was stated she had to leave the
spot. In less than a week she had to pack everything up and leave the store
completely empty. The email was addressed by Liam, but it was actually sent by
Marcus.
Caroline and Liam kept walking
around the mall. They passed by a store and Caroline decided to go inside. Liam
was going to go with her, but he received a call, so he decided to wait for her
in front of the store to answer the call. Caroline went to the men department
of the store to buy a burgundy tie that caught her attention. She thought the
tie would suit Liam perfectly. The tie that caught her eye was the only one
left.
When she was going to grab the tie,
someone grabbed it before her. The man went to the counter to pay for the tie.
Caroline went up to him and said, “hey, I was going to get that tie.” Harry
turned around and looked at Caroline. “Oh, I’m sorry,” Harry apologized.
“Hello, Mr. Williams. I didn’t see
that it was you… You can keep the tie.”
“I would prefer if you called me
Harry,” Harry spoke, “looks like you really wanted this tie since you even came
up to me without even knowing it was me.” Said Harry as he offered the tie to
Caroline. Caroline declined, “you can keep the tie.” Harry shook his head. “No,
I insist you take the tie.” Caroline replied, “no, you take the tie.” The cashier
was just looking at the two of them offering each other the tie. “Fine. I’ll
take the tie.” Harry handed the tie to the cashier and paid for it. The cashier
packed the tie in a small box and placed the box in a small bag and handed it
to Harry.
Caroline kept looking around for another
tie she liked but none caught her eye. Harry walked up to her and handed her
the bag with the tie inside. “Here’s a gift.” Caroline grabbed the bag and reached
for her money on her purse to pay Harry for the tie, but when she looked up, he
had already left. Caroline went out of the store to look for him but instead
she found Liam waiting for her. “Ready to go?” Liam asked.
Caroline looked around but did not see Harry anywhere. “How could he just disappear like that?” She could ask Liam if he had
seen him. Caroline knew he would not react like a rational person. She knew he
would probably overreact. Caroline looked back at Liam who was waiting for an
answer. She nodded and started walking towards the entrance. She stopped and
looked at Liam. “Here is a little something for you.” Caroline handed the bag
to Liam.
“It caught my attention and I
thought it would suit you perfectly.” Liam smiled as he grabbed the bag. They
walked together towards the car and they went to Caroline’s company. Before
Caroline could open the door, Liam reminded her, “come to my office when you get
off work.” Caroline nodded and opened the door and got out of the car.
