Taehyung stepped into the apartment, calm as ever.

Jungkook stood frozen by the window, his hand still clutching the small bag he was packing.

TAEHYUNG KIM

Going somewhere?

Taehyung asked softly, closing the door behind him with a click that echoed like a gunshot.

Jungkook’s heart kicked against his ribs.

JUNGKOOK JEON

Leave

He said, forcing his voice to be firm.

JUNGKOOK JEON

Please, Tae. Just let me go

Taehyung tilted his head.

TAEHYUNG KIM

I let you go once, and you nearly forgot me

JUNGKOOK JEON

I never forgot you

Jungkook hissed.

JUNGKOOK JEON

I couldn’t, You made sure of that

Something snapped behind Taehyung’s eyes.

He lunged.

Jungkook turned to run, but Taehyung was faster—grabbing him by the back of his shirt and yanking him down. The bag flew from his hands. Jungkook kicked, thrashed—but Taehyung pinned him to the floor, knee pressing into his back.

TAEHYUNG KIM

You don’t run from me

Taehyung growled.

TAEHYUNG KIM

Never again

Jungkook cried out, struggling under his weight.

TAEHYUNG KIM

You said you loved me!

Taehyung shouted, slamming him back down.

TAEHYUNG KIM

Was that a lie?!

JUNGKOOK JEON

I DID!

Jungkook screamed, tears spilling.

JUNGKOOK JEON

But not this! I didn’t love this monster!

That word.

Monster.

Taehyung’s grip trembled. Then he dragged Jungkook up by the collar and slammed him against the wall.

TAEHYUNG KIM

I became this—because you made me feel like nothing without you

He whispered, breath ragged.

TAEHYUNG KIM

You don’t get to walk away after waking me up

Jungkook sobbed, body trembling, too weak to fight back now.

Taehyung let him fall to the floor.

Silence.

Then, softly, he crouched beside him, fingers brushing through Jungkook’s hair.

TAEHYUNG KIM

I don’t want to hurt you, I never wanted to. But you always run, You make me lose control

He said gently.

TAEHYUNG KIM

If you just stayed... if you just loved me right, I’d be better

Jungkook looked up at him, vision blurry.

JUNGKOOK JEON

That’s not love, Tae. That’s a cage

Taehyung leaned in, pressing their foreheads together.

TAEHYUNG KIM

Then let me be your cage

His voice was soft. Sweet. Terrifying.

And Jungkook, beaten down and broken, didn’t move when Taehyung pulled him into a shaking embrace.

TAEHYUNG KIM

I’ll take care of you

He whispered

TAEHYUNG KIM

You won’t have to think, or run, or cry anymore. Just stay with me. I’ll be everything you need

Jungkook didn’t answer.

But he didn’t run again that night
