A Moving Target
[Downtown Highway – 4:48 AM]
(The last car speeds up, weaving between lanes. Crane’s men aren’t trying to fight anymore—they’re trying to escape.)
(Liam's voice goes through comms.)
Liam
They’re heading toward the industrial district. If they get there, you lose them.
(Rin slams the accelerator.)
(The SUV surges forward, closing the gap. Leon leans out of the window, gun steady in his hand.)
Leon
Think Crane’s scared yet?
Rin
I don’t care. I just want him dead.
(A rear window in Crane’s car rolls down—another gunman leans out, aiming. Before he can fire, Leon pulls the trigger. One shot. The man slumps, dropping his weapon onto the road.)
Liam
Damn. That was clean.
(Leon grins, blowing imaginary smoke from the barrel.)
Rin
Less talking. More shooting.
(Crane’s driver swerves hard, trying to throw them off. Rin doesn’t hesitate—he matches the move, pushing their SUV to its limit.)
(Without waiting for approval, Leon pushes the door open. Wind roars past him. Then—he leaps.)
(Rin curses under his breath.)
(Leon lands on Crane’s car, gripping the edge as the vehicle jerks wildly. He reaches for his gun, but the back door swings open—Crane’s last guard lunges at him.)
(Leon laughs as he dodges a knife swipe.)
(They struggle. The car swerves dangerously. Rin keeps his SUV steady, watching for an opening.)
Liam
Leon, if you die, I’m taking your car.
(The guard lunges again—this time, Leon doesn’t miss. A gunshot. The man stumbles back, falling from the moving car onto the pavement below.)
Leon
Alright, Crane. Just you and me now.
(Inside the car, Alistair Crane grips the wheel, face pale but furious. Leon lowers his gun, smirking.)
Leon
Pull over. Let’s talk.
