Elias loves to put on a show. But his patience is thinning.
Rin
You enjoy this.
(Leon laughs softly)
Leon
The tension? The threats? The power play? Maybe.
Leon
But I enjoy winning more.
Rin
Then act like it.
(Leon raises an eyebrow.)
Leon
Excuse me?
Rin
Stop provoking him. You want to win? Then stop giving him reasons to strike first.
Leon
You think I’m reckless.
Rin
I know you are.
Leon
And yet you’re still here.
Rin
I’m here because it’s my job. Nothing else.
Leon
You’ve got an interesting way of showing it.
Rin
It’s a job, not a hobby.
(Leon chuckles)
Leon
Maybe you just like the chaos.
(Rin quickly glances at Leon, then back to the road.)
Rin
If I liked chaos, I wouldn’t be here.
(Leon's tone shifts to something more serious.)
Leon
Then why are you?
(Rin's eyes flicker for just a moment.)
Rin
Because I’m good at it. And you’re paying me to keep you alive.
Leon
Fair enough.
(Silence falls between them. The atmosphere inside the car grows thick with tension, the road stretching ahead of them as the night deepens.)
Rin
Just don’t get too cocky. I won’t always be there to save you.
Leon
You might not have to.
Rin
We’ll see.
(The city lights flash by, and Leon leans back, his eyes flicking toward the rearview mirror. He wonders—just for a second—if Rin might be the only one who truly sees him. But that’s a thought for another time.)
