(Leon takes a seat.)

(Elias glances at Rin.)

And this must be your new pet.

Rin

Bodyguard.

Elias

Of course. Leon, you go through them so quickly.

(Leon smirks)

Leon

Good help is hard to find.

Elias

That depends. Some of us don’t have to hire loyalty.

Leon

Loyalty isn’t given. It’s earned.

Elias

And how exactly did you earn his?

(He glances at Rin again, something knowing in his eyes.)

Rin

You called this meeting for a reason. Get to it.

(Elias laughs)

Elias

Efficient. I like that.

Elias

Fine. Let’s talk business.

Leon

Business or threats?

Elias

A bit of both.

Elias

I’ll make this simple. Step down. Walk away. Before someone forces you to.

(Leon smiles.)

Leon

And if I don’t?

Elias

Then I’ll have to stop playing nice.

Rin

You were never playing nice.

Elias

Ah. He speaks.

Elias

I like him, Leon. He’s got a bite.

Leon

He’s got more than that. But you won’t live long enough to find out.

(Elias laughs, but there’s an edge to it.)

Elias

You were always entertaining, Leon. But you’re running out of time.

Leon

Then you’d better move fast.

(They stare at each other. Then, Elias smiles again, too slow, too sharp.)

Good luck surviving the week.

Rin

Good luck trying.

(The air between them is thick with unspoken threats. But as Leon and Rin leave, one thing is clear—this war has already begun.)
