[ Flashback ]

Ten-year-old Jungkook stood near the garden gates, watching his little sister play among the flowerbeds. Jennie’s laughter rang through the yard, sweet and innocent as she wove tiny flower crowns with her small hands.

Jennie

"Kookie oppa! Look! I made one for you!" * called out, waving her messy creation proudly.*

Jungkook smiled softly — but his eyes were restless, scanning the area.

A black van, idling too long across the street.

A man pretending to fix his bicycle — glancing too often toward Jennie.

A bad feeling twisted in Jungkook’s gut.

He had lived through this once before. And this time, he wouldn’t let history repeat itself.

Without hesitation, Jungkook stepped closer to his sister, his voice calm but firm,

Jungkook

"Jennie, come here. Bring the flower crown too."

She pouted at first, not understanding, but years of trusting her big brother made her feet move toward him.

As soon as she was close enough, Jungkook grabbed her hand tightly.

And then it happened.

A sharp cracking sound — like something slicing through the air — made the ground tremble beneath his shoes.

A bullet.

Jungkook didn’t even think — he tackled Jennie to the ground, shielding her tiny body with his own. His heart pounded furiously in his ears.

Jennie whimpered under him, clutching his shirt tightly.

From the corner of his eye, Jungkook saw mansion security rushing out, the black van speeding away.

Jungkook

"It’s okay, Jennie. Oppa's here. You're safe."

He whispered, even though his arms burned from scraping against the rough stones.

But the danger wasn’t over.....

LATER THAT WEEK — THE ATTACK ON YOONGI.

Yoongi, usually quiet and careful, was heading home from school early. A slick car tried to swerve toward the sidewalk — aiming right at him.

From the other side of the schoolyard, Jungkook, who insisted on walking Yoongi home today ("just because," he had lied), saw it happening in slow motion.

Without hesitation, he shoved Yoongi aside — his little brother tumbling to the grass — but Jungkook got clipped on his shoulder by the car's side mirror, sending him crashing to the pavement.

Yoongi

"HYUNG!!" * Screaming, wide-eyed, he scrambled to Jungkook’s side. *

Jungkook winced, feeling the hot sting of torn skin and bruised bones. But seeing Yoongi safe made it worth every drop of pain.

Passersby screamed. Teachers rushed over. The car vanished into the city before anyone could react.

Yoongi

* Crying, hugging him tightly * * 😭* "Why would someone do that?! Hyung, you're hurt, it's my fault—"

Jungkook

*Weakly smiling, ruffling Yoongi’s hair * "It’s not your fault, Yoongi. I’m okay. You're safe. That’s all that matters."

In the safety of the hospital room, with Jhope fussing softly and Jennie clinging to Jungkook’s uninjured side, Yoongi holding his good hand — For a brief moment, Jungkook allowed himself to close his eyes and just be a kid. His body hurt. His heart ached with fury. But his family was safe. And for Jungkook — that was enough. This time, he would protect them. No matter what it costs.

[ Flashback End ]

The black convoy of sleek cars rolled into the private driveway, gates opening automatically with a smooth hum.

The Jeon family's new mansion stood proudly ahead — a grand estate blending modern luxury with classic elegance. Tall pillars, sparkling fountains, and a sprawling garden spread like a green ocean before them.

Jeon Hoseok [Dominant Alpha]

"We're home..." she whispered, his voice filled with awe.

Jackson stepped out first, surveying the mansion with a calm, approving nod.

Jeon Jackson [Enigma]

"Security, double-check everything before the kids roam around."

His men moved swiftly, professional and silent.

Jungkook hopped out of the car next, his eyes wide as he took in the breathtaking sight.

Jungkook

[ So much grander than I remembered... Father really outdid himself this time. ]

Yoongi stumbled out behind him, rubbing his eyes sleepily after the long ride.

Yoongi

"Woah... this is huge, hyung!" * grabbing Jungkook’s arm excitedly.*

Jennie

"BIG house!! BIG garden!!" * squealed, running in circles.*

* Laughing softly* "Careful, sweetheart!"

Jeon Jackson [Enigma]

"Slow down, little storm. Let’s go inside first."

The massive front doors opened grandly as they entered.

Inside, the mansion was even more breathtaking — shining marble floors, crystal chandeliers hanging like floating stars, velvet couches, grand staircases curving upwards elegantly.

Yoongi

"Hyung! Look at that big piano!" pointing excitedly at the corner grand piano.

Jungkook

* Grinning * "Maybe you’ll learn to play this time?"

Yoongi

* Pouting* "Only if you teach me!"

Jennie tugged at Jungkook’s shirt, dragging him toward the colorful indoor garden space filled with exotic flowers.

Jennie

"Kookie oppa! Look! Pretty flowers!"

Jeon Hoseok [Dominant Alpha]

Laughing "You two go explore, but stay inside."

Jungkook nodded, letting Jennie drag him happily.

Jungkook

[ It's just like a dream... Everything feels fresh yet familiar. ]

Jackson stayed back for a moment, looking around with sharp, assessing eyes.

Though his expression was unreadable, his heart was calm — his family was safe now.

* To Jhope, in a low voice* "This is just the beginning."

* Smiling warmly * "And we'll build everything again... together."
