Before they could say more, Jungkook's eyes fluttered, and he collapsed. His father caught him swiftly, lifting him into his arms and laying him carefully on the bed.

Jhope rushed over, placing his cool hand gently on his forehead — it was warm, but not burning.

" He has a fever " * worried*

"He's weak, but no high fever yet," * Assured her*

Jackson reached for a small bottle of medicine. He helped Jungkook swallow a spoonful, supporting his head gently.

Jungkook

"Thanks, Dad..." * before sinking into a deep, heavy sleep 😴*

"It's okay, son, just rest," * he murmured *

Jhope wiped his forehead tenderly with a cloth, then hurried into the kitchen. he lit the stove and began stirring rice and water in a pot, cooking a simple porridge, his heart aching with every glance he stole toward his sleeping child. His child looks so lost, afraid when he is crying continuously because of a nightmare.

The soft chirping of birds and the faint rustle of leaves stirred Jungkook from his restless sleep. The warmth of the afternoon sun spilled through the window, casting golden patterns across the floor. His fever had broken, leaving behind only the dull ache of exhaustion. Blinking away the remnants of dreams and confusion, Jungkook sat up slowly.

His ears picked up faint giggles carried by the breeze. His heart squeezed tightly in his chest. That laughter… it’s so pure. Without wasting a second, Jungkook pushed the heavy blanket off and slid down from the bed. His tiny feet made soft thuds against the cool floor as he rushed out of his room, not even bothering with shoes.

Crossing the hallway, he stumbled a little before reaching the grand open door that led to the garden. His eyes widened, shining with a childish wonder mixed with something far older and heavier. There — under the shade of the massive willow tree — were his younger siblings.

Yoongi, with his dark hair sticking to his sweaty forehead, was busy building a small tower out of colorful wooden blocks, his little lips pursed in concentration. Beside him, Jennie sat in a puddle of soft grass, clapping her tiny hands every time Yoongi successfully balanced a piece. She was a bundle of joy in her pastel yellow dress, her chubby cheeks flushed from playing.

Jungkook stood frozen for a moment. Tears blurred his vision for a second, but he blinked them away fiercely. Not now. Smile, Jungkook.

Taking a deep breath, he stepped into the garden. His shadow fell over them, and Jennie was the first to notice.

Jennie

* Blinking up cutely* "Kook...?"

Jennie

"Kookkoo!!" *squealed, struggling to stand up on her wobbly little legs. She half-ran, half-tumbled towards him, arms stretched wide.*

Jungkook laughed, dropping to his knees just in time to catch her tiny frame in his arms.

Jungkook

"Jennie, my little princess," * whispered, hugging her tightly as if afraid she’d disappear.*

Yoongi looked up next, eyes squinting against the sunlight.

Yoongi

"Hyung? You’re awake?" * voice was gruff — trying to act tough — but the relief in his tone was clear.*

Jungkook smiled at him warmly, ruffling Yoongi’s messy hair.

Jungkook

"Of course, I am. Did you miss me, little grump?"

Yoongi crossed his arms dramatically, but his cheeks turned a faint pink.

Yoongi

Tch. No. I liked it quite without you stealing my toys."

Jennie gasped in betrayal, poking Yoongi’s arm.

Jennie

"Yoonie! Kookkoo bestest!"

Jungkook chuckled, scooping both of them closer, their small bodies fitting perfectly against him. He kissed the tops of their heads, feeling their warmth seeping into him.

Jennie tugged at his sleeve, pouting adorably.

Jennie

"Kookkoo, you sleep soo long. We wait and wait."

Jungkook

"I'm sorry, princess. Hyung was sick. But I’m all better now." * booped her nose gently, earning a high-pitched giggle.*

Yoongi sat down cross-legged in front of him, serious beyond his years.

Yoongi

"You really okay, hyung? Promise?" * worried about his Hyung*

Jungkook looked into his little brother’s worried eyes and nodded firmly.

Jungkook

"Promise, Yoongi. I'm strong like a wolf. Nothing can beat me!"

Jennie

*Clapped her hands excitedly.* "Wolf! Wolf! Kookkoo is a big wolf"

Yoongi

* Smirked mischievously.* "If you’re a wolf, then I’m a dragon!"

Jungkook

* Widened his eyes playfully.* "A dragon? Oh no! Don’t burn me!"

Jennie immediately joined the game, her little arms flapping.

Jennie

"I’m a butterfly!"🦋

Jungkook

*gasped, pulling her into his lap.*"The prettiest butterfly in the whole garden!"

The three of them dissolved into a fit of laughter, rolling in the grass, their innocent joy echoing through the warm air.

Yoongi

* Suddenly looked around suspiciously.* "Hyung, did Mama scold you? When we’re sick, Mama always scolds Papa for working too much."

Jungkook

* Laughed softly.* "No scolding this time. Mama was just worried. he made me porridge!"

Jennie

* Eyes sparkled 👀 ✨ 🤩 * "Porridge! I want porridge too!"

Yoongi

* Wrinkled his nose. * "Blech. Only if it has honey."

Jungkook leaned closer, whispering like it was a grand secret.

Jungkook

"I’ll ask Mama to make us a honey porridge feast later. Deal?"🤝😁

Yoongi sniffed dramatically, crossing his arms.

Yoongi

"Only if you promise to be our dragon in the next game!"

Jennie

"Yes, yes! Dragon Kookkoo!" * bounced excitedly in Jungkook’s arms. *

Jungkook

"A dragon?!" * widened his eyes playfully.*

Jungkook

"That's a very scary job, you know! Dragons breathe fire and roar loudly!"

He made a silly roar sound, pretending to puff smoke, causing Jennie to shriek with laughter.

Yoongi

"Don't worry, hyung, I’ll be the knight and Jennie will be the princess!" * said seriously, already plotting the game in his head. *

Jennie

"Noooo, I want to be a knight too!" * stomped her foot, making Jungkook chuckle. *

Yoongi

"But princesses wear crowns, Jennie! You love crowns!"

Jennie

"Knight princess!"🤩 *declared, as if solving all problems.*

Jungkook laughed warmly, his heart swelling with a joy so deep it almost hurt.

Jungkook

"Then we’ll have two knights and a dragon!" * agreed easily, lifting Jennie higher and spinning her gently in the air, making her squeal in delight. *

Yoongi grinned, finally dropping his stern act and grabbing Jungkook’s free hand.

Yoongi

"Come on, hyung! Let’s build our castle first!"

The three of them ran toward the other side of the garden where a pile of old pillows and wooden crates waited. Jennie carried a tiny pink crown she refused to leave behind.

As they built their “castle,” Yoongi kept giving orders like a little general.

Yoongi

"No, no, hyung! That pillow goes here! It’s the dungeon!"

Jennie

"I wanna decorate the gate with flowers!"😍

Jungkook

"As you command, Your Majesties."

He said with an exaggerated bow, making both his younger siblings erupt into loud giggles.

There was so much happiness, so much light — something Jungkook had nearly forgotten how to feel. This moment — messy, loud, and full of childish arguments over whose “tower” was taller — was perfect.

Jackson and Jhope stepped out into the garden, watching their kids from a distance for a second — soft smiles blooming on their faces.

"Looks like our little warriors are having a secret meeting without us."

Jennie

"Mama! Mama! Kookie oppa woke up! He's playing with us!" * immediately pointed toward her. *

Jackson, dressed in simple home clothes but still holding an air of natural authority, walked behind his wife.

"And the garden feels warmer with our sunshine back." His deep voice rumbled softly.

Jungkook's heart felt so full. He stood up, holding Jennie in one arm, and quickly bowed his head toward his parents.

"Appa, Umma... I’m sorry I made you worry..."

Jhope rushed forward, cupping his face with his warm hands.

"Silly boy... Your health is more important than anything." * kissed his forehead tenderly, feeling the slight fever lingering but less aggressive now. *

Jackson chuckled lowly and came closer, lifting Yoongi easily into his arms and placing a gentle hand on Jungkook's shoulder.

Jennie clapped her hands again.

Jennie

"Appa! Appa! Tea party time! Kookie oppa has to sit next to me!"

Yoongi

* Added quickly.* "I'm the Knight who guards the dungeon!"

Jackson laughed, setting Yoongi down dramatically.

"Then, mighty knight, lead the way!"

Jungkook sat on the tiny garden mat with his siblings, while their parents pulled up chairs nearby, enjoying the sunny afternoon. Plastic cups filled with imaginary tea were passed around, and a feast of plastic fruits and cookies were laid out before them.

Jhope played along sweetly, pretending to sip her cup.

"Mmm, this tea is the strongest I've ever had. Must be made by knight."

Yoongi beamed proudly.

Meanwhile, Jeon Jackson sat back, arms crossed over his chest but a twinkle in his eyes as he watched his children. His dangerous aura, known to the entire outside world, melted completely at this sight.

Jungkook glanced sideways, taking it all in — Yoongi’s happy babbling, Jennie's innocent giggles, eomma’s loving hum, and Appa’s proud gaze.

Jungkook

[ I will protect this... at all costs. ] The silent vow blossomed inside Jungkook's young heart.
