Ep 19
The prime minister's residence, breakfast table. The morning sun filters through the grand hue over the neatly set table. The aroma of fresh coffee and warm bread fills the air.
She is dressed in a crisp business suit, ready to leave for work. Across from her, her husband, eats his breakfast with his usual compound demeanor. Their interactions have been polite but distant since the wedding.
As she takes a sip of her coffee, he sets his fork down and speaks .
Randolph Weaver (ML)
I need to discuss something with you after breakfast.
Maura Davis (FL)
*she raises an eyebrow* then let's discuss it now. I have a meeting to attend.
He ignores her impatience
Randolph Weaver (ML)
After breakfast.
She exhales sharply, but nods.
She follows him to the sitting area, arms crossed.
Maura Davis (FL)
What is it?
Randolph Weaver (ML)
* he doesn't waste time* I've assigned more security to you.
Maura Davis (FL)
* her eyes narrow* what?
Randolph Weaver (ML)
From today, additional guards will accompany you wherever you go. * his tone is calm, final.
Maura Davis (FL)
* she scoffs* I already have security. My company has its own team. I don't need yours.
Randolph Weaver (ML)
* his gaze is steady* you are the prime minister's wife now. That makes you a target.
Maura Davis (FL)
*She crosses her arms* If i need more security, I will arrange it myself. I don't need your bodyguard monitoring my every move.
Randolph Weaver (ML)
*his expression doesn't change* this is non-negotiable.
Maura Davis (FL)
* her frustration rises* oh? And why is that?
Randolph Weaver (ML)
Because I'm responsible for your safety whether you like it or not.
Her jaw tightens. First, her father controlled her choice. Now, her husband was doing the same.
Without another word, she grabs her bag and storms toward the car waiting for her.
As the car pulls out of the driveway, she glances in the side mirror. Two more vehicles follow her. The prime minister's security detail.
Her hands clench into fists. They would track her every move. Watch who she met, where she went. If he wanted he could know everything.
She grits her teeth. She hated being controlled.
But one thing was clear if he wanted to play this game of power, she would find a way to win it.
