Years passed, and the baby girl grew into a cheerful, adorable child with long hair and a bright smile. Despite the tension in the household, she found joy in the simplest things. Her grandfather adored her the most, spoiling her with sweets and attention, while her uncles always made time for her.
But despite their love, she was lonely. With no siblings to play with, she created her own world—talking to her dolls, hugging pillows as if they were her little brothers and sisters. She wished for a sibling, someone to share her world with.
Meanwhile, Kristen had fully accepted her granddaughter. Though she had once wished for a grandson, she couldn’t deny the child’s charm and innocence.
But Darren? His resentment only deepened. He ignored the little girl, seeing her as yet another unwanted part of his life. He stayed out late, drowning himself in alcohol, while the little girl started to hate her own father, for ignoring her and treating her mother coldly.
Then everything changed.
One day, tragedy stuck the Stevenson household. The piller of the family, the one who had always defended Naya and cherished his granddaughter, passed away.
Grandfather was gone.
The house fell into mourning. But for Naya, it was more than grief—it was the loss of her only true protector in the Stevenson home. And as the days passed, she realized the harsh truth.
With him gone, the real nightmare was about to begin.
Darren’s cruelty worsened. No longer just indifferent, he became outright abusive. Every glance, every word dripped with hatred.
And Kristen? The mother-in-law who has once defeated her granddaughter slowly turned against Naya—not of her own will, but because her daughters had posioned her mind.
Darren’s sisters whispered lies, twisting reality, turning Kristen against Naya Everytime they called Kristen.
They painted her as a burden, as someone undeserving of the Stevenson name. And Kristen, who was easy to manipulate got blinded by their words, changed. While she still loved her granddaughter, her affection for Naya disappeared. She no longer saw her as a daughter-in-law but as a mere servant.
