I woke up with a jerk as tears were streaming down my cheeks. It has been ten years since the tragic incident, yet it still haunts me. I remember the day, that moment so vividly. An incident that forever altered my life.
I could feel the sunlight on my skin. The bright light was a clear sign that it was time to leave the bed. It was going to be another day living my worst nightmare.
But with the realization that there's no way out but to live life, I threw over the blanket and pulled myself out of bed. The moment I slipped into my warm slippers, there were loud knocks on my door that made my body instantly tense up. I knew what was coming.

Open up the goddamn door, Emma!
My father yelled as he continued to aggressively knock on the door. He was not a man of patience so I hurriedly over to unlock the door.

What the bloody hell were you doing inside, keeping the door locked?!
He furiously yelled as he stormed into my room.
William Collins
Don't try to give me excuses, you fucking piece of shit. The next time you try to lock the door think about how useless you are and how big of a mistake it was to let you live.

He blurred out the words as if they weighed nothing. To him they didn't but those words had long before dragged me down into a hollow life.
