After my nonstop chatter with Ashra, her mood lightened up, and now we were sitting in a cab, heading toward a big surprise.
Earlier, I had called Sameer, scolded him for his insensitivity, and warned him to get his act together. That’s when he revealed that he was actually planning a surprise for Ashra, which was why he hadn’t wished her yet. He gave me a mission—to bring Ashra to the restaurant where he had arranged everything.
As the cab stopped, we stepped into the beautifully decorated restaurant, the tempting aroma of food filling the air. I led Ashra to the reserved table, and just as we settled in, soft music began playing.
