Chapter 19
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
(quietly, almost as a whisper) Maybe. Or maybe we’ll just... be memories
Amyra didn’t hear her, too busy scanning the crowd for familiar faces
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
Anyway, I’m meeting up with everyone later. You should join us, celebrate properly. One last time. What do you say?
Ashi hesitated, the urge to turn away creeping in, but she fought it. Instead, she managed a small nod
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
Yeah, I’ll think about it
Amyra beamed, not noticing the subtle tension in Ashi’s voice. She wrapped an arm around Ashi’s shoulder
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
Good. We’re all going to make memories today, right? We’re not going to let this moment slip by
Ashi smiled faintly but couldn’t shake the unease. As she watched Amyra’s back as she walked off to meet up with her other friends, Ashi stood there, feeling a knot tighten in her chest
She realized then that this was the beginning of something she hadn’t anticipated—Amyra’s world was about to expand, and Ashi... Ashi was terrified that she might not be a part of it anymore
In the evening, at the party
The graduation party was in full swing, the university’s grand hall filled with music, laughter, and the clinking of glasses. Students and their families mingled, celebrating their hard-earned achievements, but for Ashi, the moment felt more like a goodbye than a celebration
She had come, mostly out of obligation, but also because she knew it would be the last time she’d spend some time with Amyra. The music thudded in the background, but Ashi couldn’t focus on anything but the growing emptiness she felt inside.
Amyra caught sight of her, grinning widely as she made her way over, a gleam of excitement in her eyes
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
(beaming) Ashi! There you are! You didn’t think I’d let you stand around alone, did you?
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
I’m good here. You go have fun with your friends
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
(pouting slightly) "You’re not going to stand here all night. Come on, let’s dance, celebrate like we’re supposed to!
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
(softly) I don’t know, Amyra. I’m not much for dancing. Besides, you’re already making memories with them. I don’t want to spoil it
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
Well, we’ll make some memories too. Just you and me, okay?
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
(nodding) Yeah, okay. One last dance
Amyra pulled Ashi into the dance, her laughter infectious, but Ashi couldn’t shake the feeling that this was all fading too quickly.
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
(grinning) You’re actually pretty good at this, Ashi. Who knew?
As the song ended, Amyra gave her a playful shove, her face flushed with the joy of the moment
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
See? Told you it would be fun! You can’t just hide in the corner all the time, you know?
Ashi nodded but didn’t respond. She watched Amyra, her heart heavy with words she couldn’t bring herself to say
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
I should get going
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
What? Already? But it’s just starting!
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
(quietly) I know, but I... I need some space
Amyra’s smile faltered, but she didn’t push it. She simply nodded
Amyra Winston(2nd Fl/Dominant Omega)
Alright. But don’t stay away for too long, okay?
Ashi Ryna(Fl/Enigma/AR)
I’ll be fine
She turned away before Amyra could say anything else, slipping out of the crowd and into the cool night air. The sounds of the party faded behind her, and she found a quiet spot on the steps outside the venue, where she could breathe and think. Her mind was a storm of emotions—regret, fear, sadness. But underneath it all was the undeniable truth: Amyra was about to move forward, and Ashi was being left behind
And that's it for this episode😊
