Amyra watches as Ashi walks away, leaving her with more questions than answers. But, somehow, she feels a little strange

Ashi walked away, her footsteps soft but deliberate on the quiet path. She tried to shake off the tension from the evening, but the weight of the words that had passed between her and Amyra lingered. She wasn’t one to get caught up in emotions, but something about Amyra’s vulnerability made it harder to just walk away like it was nothing

When she’d first seen Amyra that night, trembling against the wall, she’d acted without thinking. Instinct had kicked in, she wasn’t supposed to care, not like that. She wasn’t supposed to be the one to run in and save the day. But here she was, again.
