The next morning, Taehyung left the house early for work, skipping breakfast altogether. It was his silent protest—a clear signal to his mother that he wasn’t happy with her decision to push the marriage proposal from the Han family.
Mrs. Kim watched him leave with a frown, but she said nothing, knowing the topic would need to be addressed soon.
By afternoon, the sound of the doorbell rang through the house. Mrs. Kim hurried to the door, a bright smile spreading across her face as she opened it to find her daughter, Taeyeon, standing there with her two little girls.
Taeyeon held her three-month-old baby, Minseo, in her arms, while her five-year-old daughter, Mina, clutched her mother’s hand, her eyes lighting up as she spotted Seokjin and Seojun in the living room.
Mrs Kim
Oh, my sweet granddaughters!
She exclaimed, her face lighting up with pure joy. She immediately bent down to kiss Mina on the cheeks before reaching out to cradle baby Minseo, who was dozing peacefully in Taeyeon’s arms.
Mrs Kim
Look at you, Minseo, you’ve grown so much since I last saw you! And Mina, you’re becoming such a big girl!
Seokjin walked over, smiling warmly at Taeyeon and the children. He gave his sister-in-law a brief hug and patted Mina’s head affectionately.
Kim SeokJin
Taeyeon, it’s so good to see you. You’ve brought the little ones too, I see. Seojun will be overjoy.
Mina giggled as Seojun ran over, already excited to play with his cousin.
Seokjun
Mina noona, let’s go play in the garden!
He exclaimed, pulling her along, and soon the two children were running around the house, their laughter filling the air.
Taeyeon smiled, adjusting Minseo in her arms as she sat down in the living room.
Mrs. Kim sat beside her, cooing over Minseo, completely enchanted by her youngest granddaughter.
Mrs Kim
She’s such a beautiful baby, Taeyeon. You’re doing a wonderful job as a mother.
She said, planting a soft kiss on Minseo’s tiny forehead. The baby stirred slightly but continued to sleep, snuggled up comfortably in her mother’s arms.
Taeyeon
Thank you, mom. It’s been a lot of work, but they’re worth every bit of it.
Taeyeon replied, smiling as she gazed lovingly at her daughters.
Seokjin, after making sure the children were settled, joined them in the living room with tea and snacks.
The three of them—Mrs. Kim, Taeyeon, and Seokjin—chit-chatted about everyday things, laughing about the children’s antics and exchanging stories about their busy lives.
