A Few Weeks Later

Charlotte is at home when her phone rings. It’s Mary calling to invite her to the museum.
Mary smith
*Excitedly* Hey Charlotte! We’re planning to visit the City Art Museum this weekend. Want to join us?
Charlotte Carmine
*Forcing enthusiasm* Oh, that sounds great, but I’ve got a lot of work to do this weekend. I’m afraid I can’t make it.
Mary smith
That’s a shame. We’ll miss you! Maybe next time?
Charlotte Carmine
Definitely. Hope you all have a fantastic time!

After ending the call, Charlotte puts her phone down, feeling a pang of boredom. She starts pacing around her apartment, contemplating what to do instead.

Just then, her phone rings again. This time, it’s a colleague.
Ruth
Hi Charlotte! We’re planning to visit the Modern History Museum this weekend. Would you like to join us? We’re going to check out the new exhibit and also you promised to help me choose my wedding dress
Charlotte Carmine
*Brightening up* Actually, that sounds perfect! I’d love to join. What time are you going?
Ruth
We’re meeting at 10 AM. We’ll be there for a few hours.
Charlotte Carmine
Great, I’ll see you then. Thanks for the invite!
Ruth
No problem! Looking forward to it.

After the call, Charlotte feels relieved and excited. She gets ready to go out and enjoy her day at the museum with her colleague, leaving behind the earlier invitation and her sense of isolation.
Charlotte Carmine
*To her colleague* This place is amazing! I’m really glad I came.
Ruth
I’m glad you’re enjoying it. It’s nice to have some company.

As they continue exploring, Charlotte rounds a corner and comes face-to-face with Mary, Arthur, Robert, and the rest of the group, who are also visiting the museum.
Charlotte Carmine
*Shocked* Mary? Arthur? What are you doing here?
Mary smith
*Equally surprised* Charlotte? I didn’t expect to see you here!
Arthur Windsor
*Surprised but friendly* Hey, Charlotte. We decided to check out this museum instead. What a coincidence!
Charlotte Carmine
*Awkwardly* Yeah, it’s a small world. I’m here with a colleague.
Aurora D'AMORE
*Forcing a smile* Looks like we’re all enjoying the museum today. Fancy that.
James Carlton
*Trying to ease the tension* Well, since we’re all here, why don’t we explore some exhibits together?
Charlotte Carmine
Oh sorry but we have another plan

At the Wedding Dress Shop

As Charlotte and her colleague browse through the wedding gowns, her colleague playfully tries on various dresses and teases Charlotte.
Ruth
(holding up a dramatic, sparkly gown) “What do you think? Should I go for the full princess look or is this too much?”
Charlotte Carmine
(laughing) “That’s definitely a bold choice. I think you’d need a crown and a royal scepter to pull that off!”
Ruth
“Oh, come on! I was hoping for a tiara and a parade of admirers!”
Charlotte Carmine
“Well, if you’re going all out, you might as well have the entire royal entourage!”
dead person
The two burst into laughter. Charlotte’s colleague continues to try on different dresses, making funny comments and exaggerated poses.
Ruth
(in a mock-serious tone, striking a pose in a dramatic gown) “I declare this dress the most fabulous of all time!”
Charlotte Carmine
“Absolutely! I think you’ve just started a new fashion trend. I’m going to need sunglasses to handle all this glamour.”
Ruth
(trying on a more traditional gown) “What about this one? Does it say ‘elegant and classic’ or ‘I’m ready for a royal ball’?”
Charlotte Carmine
“It says ‘both!’ You’ll look like you stepped right out of a fairytale.”
Ruth
“Perfect! I’ll make sure to bring my fairy godmother along.”

They continue to enjoy their time together, laughing and making jokes. The camaraderie and humor provide a welcome distraction for Charlotte, easing her mind and making the day enjoyable.

After returning home
Clara Carmine
*While arranging plates* Charlotte, I have some news! Your grandmother has come to visit. She’s here right now!
Charlotte Carmine
(surprised) “Grandma? I didn’t know she was coming. Is she already at the house?”
Clara Carmine
“Yes, she arrived a little while ago. She’s eager to see you. I thought I’d let you know so you can come over as soon as possible.”
Charlotte Carmine
“Okay, thanks for letting me know. I’ll head over there right away.”
Clara Carmine
“Great! She’s been asking about you. See you soon!”

Charlotte hangs up and quickly makes her way to her family home. As she arrives, she’s greeted by the warm and familiar atmosphere of her childhood home. Her grandmother is sitting in the living room, looking delighted to see her.
grandmother
(with a warm smile) “Charlotte, my dear! It’s so wonderful to see you.”
