How long does it take to accept someone romantically? With all my experience in romance and as a fan of drama series, I know that the time varies depending on the situation and the person.

For example, now that I'm watching Captivating the King, they had their first kiss in chapter 8, and that didn't mean they were already dating. In A Man to Cry On, they didn't accept their romance until the last chapter. So each person takes their own pace and romance differently!

I was left thinking about his questions, drinking more beer.

"I don't know yet."

"You don't know? Julen, aren't you going to continue with your original plan?"

"Well, things can change."

"What will happen to the things that belonged to your parents? You promised you'd go to town to fix what they couldn't change."

That made me feel bad.

"I know I promised, but..." I wasn't able to finish the sentence.

"Now, if you become your boss's boyfriend, do you really think you can be happy? Real life is not like the dramas you usually watch."

"I already know that reality and fiction are nothing alike, but if you think about it, all that fiction that exists is taken from our reality. So, in part, fiction also tells truths."

And as the water ran down my body, thoughts began to play with my desires. I turned off the water. My nipples were hard, and I consciously caressed my chest. Why do this? I finish typing. The schedule for this week is full. It's three in the afternoon, Taylor Swift sings Getaway Car in my ear.

I open the calendar; it's the first week of March. I feel his hand on my shoulder, and the chair turns. His eyes are very close to mine. What is he doing? He raises his hand to remove my headphones; I feel his fingers brush against the skin of my ears, and it tickles.

"What are you doing?" he asks me.

"I was just finishing organizing your schedule for this week."

"Anything important?"

"Everything."

He didn't seem convinced.

"Do you want to go with me?"

"Where to?"

"Get up from that chair."

I obeyed him. We started walking down the hall. Erick made eye contact with me, and I just greeted him with a "peace" sign.

"Don't you feel hot in the office?"

"No. The air conditioning is always on," I reply.

"Well, I was planning on taking you for a drink. Don't you feel like it?"

I smiled.

"Okay."

Then, Jessi approaches us, and by her side walks a guy with a very neat appearance and familiar eyes.

"Director Christian, nice to see you," Jessi says.

"Good afternoon. Is this the new intern?"

"Yes. His name is Dario."

Dario exchanged greetings with the boss, and when the new guy's eyes focused on me, I recognized him.

"Nice to see you, Julen!" Dario says.

He approaches me and gives me a hug.

"What a surprise! I thought you already had another internship offer," he said.

He nodded.

"Yes. But things change, and new opportunities arise."

We exchanged smiles.

"I'm glad! We'll still be colleagues," I say sincerely.

"You know each other?" Christian asks.

"Yes. We go to the same school. We're classmates," Dario informs him.

Christian seems to examine Dario.

"What area are you assigned to?" Christian wants to know.

"He's on the marketing team. He's applying for project manager," Jessi says.

"What about you?" Dario addresses me.

"I'm here as a secretary."

"Really?!" He's surprised for me.

"Yes."

Christian's cell phone starts vibrating.

"It's time to go, Juls," says my boss.

"Well, we'll be seeing each other soon," I let my classmate know.

"Of course!"

Christian starts walking, and I try to follow him. We get to the elevator, the doors open, we're entering, and just as it's about to close, Dario appears. He extends his hand to me, and his gesture surprises me.

"Here! I remembered you like these a lot." There's a Pulparindo in his hand.

I don't hesitate to take it.

"Thank you!"

"See you later!" He says goodbye.

He walks away from the elevator, the doors close, and I'm super excited about what just happened. How unexpected!

"You seem to be very close," Christian says.

I sit down.

"Yes, you could say we're close."

I look down and see the candy. I want to open it, so I unwrap it and bring the tamarind candy stick to my mouth. But Christian stops me! He snatches the candy from me.

"I'll eat this for you, it's been years since I've had one of these," and he brings the candy to his mouth. He bites into it.

I feel strange!
