“Hyung.”

Jimin (CEO)

"hmm"

Jungkook (photographer)

“You plan on sleeping forever?”

Jimin (CEO)

Jimin groggily opened his eyes up

Jimin (CEO)

**realizing that the flight attendants were starting to roam the aisles and the lights were soft, slowly coming on to wake up the cabin.**

Jimin (CEO)

**He rubbed his eyes and shifted a little, noticing that Jeongguk’s seat was upright, and he was turned to face Jimin in his seat.**

Jimin (CEO)

“How much time is left?” Jimin croaked.

Jungkook (photographer)

“Ninety minutes until we land.

Jungkook (photographer)

You’ve been knocked out the whole time,” Jeongguk said, impressed.

Jungkook (photographer)

“I’ve watched two movies and you’ve just slept the whole time. I’m impressed.”

Jimin (CEO)

“Jesus Christ,” Jimin mumbled, right his seat and stretching tiredly. “I’ve never slept a whole flight like that.”

“It was the kissing. That was the sleeping pill,”

Jungkook (photographer)

Jeongguk teased quietly, and then he grinned and glanced back to his movie as Jimin rolled his eyes.

Jimin (CEO)

**Then he unbuckled his seatbelt and reached into his bag to grab his smaller little bag of necessities, including a toothbrush and some face wash. He glanced over at Jeongguk.**

Jimin (CEO)

“Do you need any of this?” he asked quietly.

Jimin (CEO)

“Toothbrush, face wash. That kind of stuff.”

Jungkook (photographer)

“I did that about ten minutes ago, but thanks,” Jeongguk said with a small smile.

Jimin (CEO)

**Jimin could tell. HIs face was bare still, and even though he looked sleepy, he looked clear and fresher than Jimin felt.**

Jimin (CEO)

**Jimin nodded, and then he hopped up to use the bathroom.**

After freshening up, Jimin sat back down just in time for the flight attendant to ask what he was interested in for breakfast. He asked for the grilled short ribs, rolled omelette, cold cucumber soup, rice, and radish kimchi. The moment Jeongguk heard the order rattled off, he said that he wanted the same exact thing because he was starving.

Jimin (CEO)

“Is there anything you can tell me about this secret job you’re doing?” Jimin asked

Jimin (CEO)

Watching both of their trays fill with food as flight attendants set things down.

Jungkook (photographer)

“Um…” Jeongguk ripped the plastic on his fork pensively, chewing his bottom lip.

Jungkook (photographer)

“Not really. It’s just… you know. It’s for a company and they hired me because I’m young and they think I can do a good job. That’s all I can really say.”

Jimin (CEO)

“Well, L.A. is definitely the place to go for a big photography job if you want to get your name out there,” Jimin said, stirring his soup.

Jungkook (photographer)

“What are you here for? You said business, but that’s not very specific,” Jeongguk said. Then he shoved an entire bite of rice topped with kimchi into his mouth, so much food that his cheeks puffed.

Jimin (CEO)

“I come to L.A. once a month to meet with the American-based employees,” Jimin replied.

Jimin (CEO)

“Make sure everything’s running smoothly. This time I have a few bigger things to do, but it doesn’t really matter. It’s business as usual.”

Jungkook (photographer)

“Maybe you should just peel off for a day or two and go explore the city,” Jeongguk suggested with a small smile.

Jungkook (photographer)

“There are a lot of nice mountains in California. I did some research. I want to go see the Griffith Observatory while I’m here. I wish I could go somewhere other than L.A.”

Jimin (CEO)

“Maybe another trip,” Jimin said, gathering up another bite of food. “I’m sure you’ll gain plenty of popularity, and now you’ll be on planes all the time.”

Jungkook (photographer)

“Yes, see, I’ve just realized that I’ll have to pay for those flights and adjust the rates that I charge. Popularity isn’t all it’s cracked up to be,” Jeongguk said with a dramatic sigh,

Jimin (CEO)

And Jimin chuckled, picking up his little bowl of soup and slurping it quietly.

Jeongguk’s eyes flicked up to his large screen, which showed the flight trajectory. “I can’t believe this.”

Jimin (CEO)

“What, that you’re about to land in another country?”

Jungkook (photographer)

“First time overseas,” Jeongguk said, stabbed a hunk of omelette with his fork and examining it carefully.

Jungkook (photographer)

“My English isn’t all that great, hyung. I’m not even sure how to get around. I did a lot of research, but I’m just… I don’t know. Kind of nervous it won’t work.”

Jimin (CEO)

“You’ll be totally fine,” Jimin assured him. “You don’t need to know a lot of English. L.A. is full of foreigners, including Koreans.”

Jungkook (photographer)

“Easy for you to say,” Jeongguk said childishly, stifling a laugh. Then he glanced out the window. “Are we descending? I can feel it.”

Jimin (CEO)

“Yeah, we’re almost there.”

Breakfast finished, and flight attendants walked the aisles to collect trash as the plane continued to descend. Jimin checked the flight tracker on his screen as well—they were hovering right over Los Angeles. He wished that he could find new enthusiasm for being overseas, but L.A. was a tired shithole in Jimin’s eyes. To Jeongguk, though, it was a dream come true, something brand new.
