Episode 12

Helen chose not to return to the office and instead decided that distance was best. Marked in red on her calendar was the date of her ex-boss's departure to Germany, the day she would finally lose track of him.

"Enough, Helen! Stop crying, stop thinking about him. You're young; you'll meet someone new soon enough."

She attempted to convince herself by speaking out loud, but it was futile. Her heart was in shreds, deeply saddened. Glancing through the window at the bright sun—a stark contrast to her pale skin—she donned a swimsuit, shorts, a sheer shirt, and headed to the beach. With a job interview on Monday, she figured she might as well go without bags under her eyes and with a tan, to make a good impression.

Renato was in a foul mood. Ever since his secretary had left him, the office was in chaos. It was hard to believe how much one person had kept in order. With only two days before his departure, complications arose, including not knowing what to do with his dog, even though everything for the trip had been arranged.

"What's wrong with you?" he asked his pet, who was whimpering at the door with its toy duck.

"Woof, woof."

"You want to go out again?" The dog wagged its tail. "Fine, let’s head to the beach."

Renato swapped his sportswear for shorts, donned a baseball cap, and grabbed his sunglasses.

"Come on. I can't believe I'm talking to you like she used to," he remarked with a melancholy smile.

The dog hopped into the back of the truck, evidently pleased, tail wagging vigorously. At the beach, which was almost deserted around noon, only a few brave souls dared to sunbathe at this hour. Renato played with Hercules until the dog suddenly dashed towards the sea, diving towards a girl.

Chasing after him, Renato was taken aback when the woman emerged from the water—it was Helen.

"Hi," she greeted her favorite furry ball and hugged him, "Little one, what are you doing here?"

"Helen, what are you doing dressed like that in the middle of the beach?" Renato asked, annoyed to see the young woman emerge from the water in a very tiny bikini that barely covered anything and made her way to her clothing a few meters from the shore. "You could cover up a bit; people are staring."

"There's no one around," she retorted irritably. "And it's a swimsuit. There's nothing wrong with it." She grabbed a towel and started to dry off under her ex-boss's watchful gaze.

"Helen, really? That hardly covers anything," he complained jealously as he noticed some boys looking in her direction. "Come on, I'll take you home."

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm sunbathing and enjoying my day off."

"Could you at least cover up?"

"You’re unbearable, and I don't work for you anymore, so you can't give me orders." She rummaged through her bag, pulled out her sheer shirt, and put it on. "Happy now?"

"No, obviously not. That's the same as nothing. You're provoking me; are you doing this on purpose?"

Renato looked at her, raising an eyebrow. In frustration, he grabbed her hand along with her belongings; he was seething.

"Let go of me, where are you taking me?"

"You've brought this upon yourself."

"You can't just drag me away like this."

"Of course, I can, and I will. Now, you're coming to my place."

He hoisted her over his shoulder, covered her behind with his cap, and carried her to the truck, where she could scarcely believe what was happening. This man was out of his mind. She tried opening the door, but it was locked. He walked around the vehicle, got in, and drove off. Upon arrival, Renato helped her get out, and they entered his apartment, where she erupted.

"You have no right to kidnap me!"

"Of course, I do. You kidnapped my heart first; it's time I repaid you for everything that happened that night."

"I did nothing to you. I just..." she couldn't finish, as he silenced her with a kiss. Slowly, he lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bedroom, lying her on the bed. Whispering a plea, he said,

"Just once more, but this time let's both be aware. Let's say goodbye. I need you."

"Agreed," was all she could say, driven wild by his caresses, as gasps soon followed.

He kissed her again, unbuttoning her shirt one by one, while she surrendered to being in his arms again, despite knowing she'd regret it for life. But for now, the desire was too strong. She gently pulled his sweater over his muscular arms, kissing his beloved's bare skin, as he discarded his shorts. Carefully, he untied the strings of her bikini, and there was nothing left between them. She lay fully bare, and he traced a line of kisses down her skin tasting of the sea, pausing at that memorably pictured area, descending to her most sacred spot, tantalizing her with his tongue until she lost control.

"Reni, please, I need you," she moaned, heat rising on her skin.

"Shh," he quieted her, then ascended her body like a hungry lion to feast upon her breasts. "You're beautiful."

She had longed to hear those words and thought it was a dream. Lost in her body, Renato made love with tenderness and devotion, offering all the love he had kept silent in his heart. Gently, he entered her as she clung to him, craving total communion, which he sensed. So, they rolled, and she ended up atop him, her hair veiling her face with each rhythmic motion. With his hands, he unveiled her, wanting to see her eyes as they gave themselves completely. This time, both knew who the other was, surrendering without reservation until fatigue overtook their satisfied bodies.
