Episode 7

The woman gazed at Diana for a long time; it was astonishing how beautiful the young woman looked in her bridal attire. Diana could indeed be described as a radiant beauty, with a face akin to that of an angel and flawless features.

Nonetheless, hatred can emerge in some people without provocation, and that was the case between Diana and her coworkers. No matter how poorly her uncles treated her, Diana also had to endure the absurd hatred that her fellow cleaning staff harbored for her.

Every day, they would force Diana to work twice as hard, hoping to exhaust her further until she fell asleep, only to face reprimand afterwards.

Some staff members despised Diana for her beauty, kindness towards others, and though she couldn't speak, her intelligence was apparent. She always found ways to make herself understood...

Now that Edwin had chosen her as his wife, relegating Susana to insignificance, the employees who witnessed the affair sided with Susana, portraying Mateo's daughter as the victim and Diana as a homewrecker.

"Is that you, Diana?" The employee's expression shifted dramatically upon seeing the luxurious wedding dress Diana was donned in.

Diana started to make hand gestures to respond to the employee, but Teresa, being far more seasoned than Diana, saw the envy in the eyes of the employee before them.

It was evident that no one took pleasure in Diana’s marriage to a man as wealthy and powerful as Edwin.

Grabbing the young woman's hand, she hastily escorted Diana out of the mansion before any incident could occur that might prevent her from leaving...

Upon reaching the foyer, the eyes of the other staff members fell upon the petite woman as she slowly walked toward the mansion's exit.

The murmurs of ill intent from the other employees started almost immediately. They had all gathered in the foyer to witness Diana’s departure.

"I can't believe it; she seemed so sweet and naive, and now she has snatched her cousin's fiance."

"She has sold herself to a man just to escape this house; such shamelessness..."

"No matter how finely she dresses, a monkey remains a monkey. And no matter how beautiful she looks now, she cannot compare to her cousin’s beauty..."

"Maybe you're just trading in your uniform temporarily, but you’ll still be a servant to another master..."

"Ha, ha, ha."

"Of course! Who would want a mute at their side?"

"She does look stunning, sure, with a bit of polish anyone would look like a princess."

The other maids began to whisper amongst themselves, intentionally trying to make Diana feel bad.

For a moment, Diana stopped, the urge to cry overwhelming her. There were so many who hated her without reason.

However, their animosity wouldn’t cause Diana to feel bad. On the contrary, it made her feel much stronger.

She was about to marry a very handsome man, and from what she understood, Edwin was exceedingly wealthy.

Diana was not an ambitious girl, but she was eager to meet her father and to learn why he had abandoned her pregnant mother without ever looking back.

Above all, she was leaving a house where everyone despised and rejected her for her inability to speak.

Diana drew a smile, gripping the side of her dress tightly, and lifted her chin with pride.

She began to move more quickly out of the mansion; she didn’t want to stay a moment longer.

A whirlwind of emotions swirled in her heart, fear of the unknown future with Edwin, but she was so emotionally shattered that the only conclusion in her mind was one resolute thought.

"What can happen there that hasn’t been done to me for years by my so-called uncles?"

Upon Diana’s exit from the mansion, the chauffeur immediately opened the car's rear door for her.

"Good day, Miss Wlop. Please get in the car; we must hurry, there's less than half an hour before we arrive," he said.

The chauffeur was polite, but Diana couldn’t help but dislike him for his part in a wedding purely for her relatives’ benefit.

Diana climbed into the car, looking through the window back at the mansion. The more she pondered, the more she questioned what she had done to make her uncles hate her so.

In seconds, the black car started to pull away from the mansion. The further away she got, the better Diana felt.

Soon they were at a totally different locale, and the chauffeur parked the vehicle at the entrance of the registry office.

Edwin was already there waiting, checking his watch to ensure Diana had arrived on time...

The chauffeur promptly exited the car, opened the door, and Diana stepped out gracefully. Edwin’s dark eyes locked onto her, and he swallowed hard, astounded by Diana’s allure.

Edwin walked slowly towards the car and approached Diana, taking her hand. Unexpectedly, he placed his right hand on Diana’s waist and his left on her head.

Bringing her close, Edwin lowered his head to kiss Diana's sweet lips – an act that caused a commotion as there were paparazzi lurking nearby.

Edwin didn’t stop kissing Diana until she began to gasp for air.
