Chapter 13: Weakest Creature

  Izumi had always felt shy, never really stood up for herself, always felt like a burden or the weakest link. In this new body, she didn't feel any different. In fact, she was the weakest creature in the fantasy realm if DeRuffel.

  She was born a light green lesser slime! Ironically this could be the best thing that could have ever happened to her.

Slowly opening her eye to what seemed like the night sky. She didn't have any words to explain how she felt.

  She actually couldn't talk at all. The lesser slices only have eye, core, and their slimy bodies of all different colors.

  In her mind, she began to panic.

( Ferra!! Saren!! Zander!! Where are you... I'm scared... Alone... Why won't anyone respond...)

She started to tear up but then heard the voice of the Goddess.

(My dear Izumi, please don't cry I'm here for you. Don't worry about your friends they are safe and sound. If you have any questions say the display menu. Ask for help on the help system. Your friends will be working there way north to the entrance of the kingdom... My.. ..... Are... Being blocked somehow... Fight your..... Through....... Dungeon..... Find your friend...... At the border..... This is all i can do to help.....)

  The Goddess words faded out like static. Izumi was confused and scared. She didn't know how to fight. She's never been in one. She just did what others said to avoid conflict.

  Even tho the ceiling of her new home was beautiful and well lit. Her heart started to race when she saw the thousands of other slimes like her roaming around the cave floor some even on the wall or the ceiling.

  Some were larger than others, some were producing slimes slowly from the bodies. They are created from budding off a basic slime. Dirt, grime, anything that was gross sticky or slimy that gets close enough to a strong core will produce a slime.

Izumi loved to learn about things. She was a bookworm in her spare time. She mostly read romantic fantasy books.

Her first thought she had when she saw the largest slime in the cave was

(I wonder if that big blob had a name since he's the biggest one.)

The slime that sat in the middle of the cave surrounded by its children didn't move at all. It seemed to be slowly sinking the king deeper into the cave floor.

  Izumi jumped scared from the voice inside her head hoping she wasn't going crazy. Then she slowly realized it was the help system speaking to her giving her advice about the world.

Izumi was feeling sad for the king slime. It was dying from old age about to kick the bucket. She wished she could do something to help. She slowly made her way over the thousand of other colorful slimes to the king slime.

She finally reached the king slime and tried talking to it to see if she could help. She bumped into it to get its attention. It didn't respond so she kept trying poking it. Threw a rock. Poked it with a stick. Tried pushing it and while she was pushing it she was so frustrated she couldn't get its attention, she felt her little blobby body tingle like she was carbonated. Her little slime nubs for hands started hurting the king slime.

She didn't realize it till she heard a long last breathe from King slime. He died. She killed him. She had no words for what she had done. She didn't know some of her actions were causing it damage.

The King slime dropped nothing. The first layer of this dungeon didn't have a treasure box. When she saw

[You successfully killed the King Slime Bo Bo Be.]

[Level up, Level up, ...., Max level reach Evolution requirements met.]

[Would you like to evolve...]

Before the system could finish speaking Izumi start rolling as fast she could while crying her eyes out. She's never killed anything before. She felt so guilty, so awful, she didn't know what to do. She started moving towards the entrance that she saw rolling away from the swarm of slimes that were starting to get very upset and bouncing everywhere looking for an enemy.

She didn't realize she became much faster from maxing out her stats to level 17. She was to busy to care because she was crying. None of the slimes figured she was the culprit. She finally reached the outside and went to the biggest tree she could find in a small open field. She felt most comfortable in nature reading under the shade of any tree.

  While she was crying into the tree. A whistling tune started coming closer. From over the hills on the main path, was a walking flower. It was almost like a sunflower but the stem and leaves were black with a neon red leaf that almost looked like a tie. This flowers face had a chiseled jaw with 5 o'clock shadow with black petals that looked like slicked-back black hair. So he looked like an Italian mafia member but as a flower.

As this strange flower was walking by he heard Izumi crying. He stopped in the middle of his whistling and turned to his left seeing the slime crying.

This was a strange sight. No one has ever seen a slime cry because they don't have feelings and don't show emotion. So he walks up to her and says.

"Hey you, kiddo, wassa mattah wid you. I was trying to enjoy my stroll through this forest and i hear a big baby causin a ruckus."

She sobs and turns around to see who was talking about... She turns around and freaks out jumping behind the tree. She was shaking with fear. Hoping that she wasn't going to be killed for killing the slime king.

"So kiddo, um whatcha cryin about? Not like care or nothin. The names Neo Giovanni."

She couldn't speak she could only write out what had happened inside the cave and the situation she was in with her friends.

"Oh that all you snuffed out the boss didja. Don't stress too much. You shouldn't be to upset. If you wanna meet up with your friends and save this world you'll need to know how to scrap a dog or two to make it. I may not look it but I was an adventurer myself back in the day. That was a long time ago. I can show ya how to give a few licks back and protect yourself if ya like."

He went on to explain how he was from another world as well. It was a few hundred years ago when it happened. His memories aren't all there but there are only a few things he'll never forget. His daughter being the most important, his two friends he made when he was summoned here, Ren and Zen that were twins, and how to fight.

Before they could start training he checked out her stats

She had to pick from 3 evolutionary lines.

King line- become king/ queen of the layer.

Dungeon line - forever clean the dungeon of bodies, waste, etc. Getting larger and produce offspring for future cleaner slimes.

Variant line -7 evolutions able to heal within the gel body and others. Able to mold your body to any form for a short time frame.

She chose the variant line which was the obvious choice. The two traveled to a hollowed tree stump that died years ago. It took her two days to evolve into a more elegant slime.

When she awoke Neo from his inventory had a mirror in front of her showing her what had changed. She was shocked at the difference.
