The wedding

The days went by quickly and before she knew it, the day of the wedding had arrived. Her father and her nine brothers and sisters had arrived a day after her in the fox tribe.

The wedding was held publicly in the center of the fox tribe. Kaida was wearing the wedding dress of the foxes tribe. She had a gray veil of lace on her head, and a woven gray dress embroidered with foxes on it, she had on a cloack of fox fur.

Because she did not have a fox herself, Huli's fox was on her coat  embroidered. She had a gold chain with a pendant of a fox, around her wrists she had golden bracelets with fox claws.

Huli had on the bride's suit of the dragon's tribe, he was wearing red satin pants with a red satin blouse. He had on a cloack of dragon scales and on the back of his cloack the scales formed a sign of a dragon. He had a chain around his neck with a dragon's pendant and a bracelet with flames on his wrists.

In the center of the foxes tribe a circle was made of different kinds of flowerpetals. A priest stood next to the circle.

Kaida was beeing escorted on the arm of her father to the center, they walked to the priest. Her father gave her arn to the priest and he escorted her to the circle made of flowerpetals. She sat down on her knees in the circle of flowerpetals.

Huli was escorted to the circle of flowerpetals on his mother's arm. Haya tried to laugh, but it was difficult for her. With difficulty she gave Huli arm to the priest and walked to her place. The priest accompanied Huli feather to the circle of flowerpetals. He too was sitting in the circle on his knees.

The priest walked away to a table. On the table were two wine cores, wine, a thick red woven rope and candle. While the priest was preparing the things one by one at the front of the circle, the people were cheering and throwing flowers

When the priest was ready, he put his two hands in the air and gestured that everyone should be quiet. He turned to Kaida and Huli

"let the happiness in your life grow like a garden where flowers flourish"

When the priest turned around to take the thick red woven thread, Kaida and Huli moved to sit facing each other in the circle of flowepetals. Huli raised the veil of Kaida so that her face was visible.

The priest took their right hand and put them together. Then he tightly wrapped the red woven thread around their hands

"Intertwined, the rest of your life in a world full of faith, hope and love"

Then he took the candle and lit it.

"Search together for the light inside so that you can drive away the darkness together. Your light can then enter the world, so that you remain faithful to each other. "

With the candle he burned the red woven thread. The piece of thread that was arround Kaida's hand he tied around Huli's hand and burned it so that it became a bracelet. Then he took the piece from Huli and did the same with Kaida.

Then the priest took the two wine cores and poured wine into it. He gave Kaida a wine core and one to Huli.

"For you two happy people, our warm wishes. We hope that this day may continue in love and prosperity. With this wine you seal your marriage "

Kaida and Huli crossed their arms together and drank from each other wine core. When it was finished, Huli stood up and helped Kaida to her feet. 

Everyone started to cheer again and throw flowers.

In the center of the foxes tribe people cheered the words:

"May the gods bless your marriage and we wish you prosperity and happiness in your marriage"

In the center of the foxes tribe everyone started celebrating cheerfuly. Huli and Kaida sat in the circle made of petals, and people danced around them. Huli looked straight ahead and occasionally nodded as guests came to congratulate them. Kaida had a warm look in her eyes and smiled lovingly at everyone who came to congratulate them.

Okuri stood next to Kaida's father. He looked at the couple and sighed.

"Zuko Did we look that way at our weddings? "

The father of Kaida laughed

"Okuri your marriage was different from mine. Your marriage was already established before you were born. And for my own marriage I had to fight, a fight that my beloved let me win"

Zuko looked gloomily at his glass of wine and thought about the mother of his children. Her eyes as red as rubies that had looked at him lovingly. The wind through Her thick curly hairs as red as fire as they rode horses together.

Zuko was taken out of his mind when Okuri put a hand on his shoulder

"you are right old friend it was indeed different. But we are and were blessed with a good marriage

Nana looked furiously at Cuan
