I was nervous, frozen in place. Every muscle ached from the rigidity of my stance, and he took his time to speak with calmness.
It was foolish to have given him the pattern to unlock my phone. He had entered my apartment without my knowledge, tampered with the security cameras at my workplace, and knew far too much about me.
"You have something I like," he moved closer to me, his long legs brushing against mine.
I tried to speak, but his gaze was more eloquent than a thousand words. I had to remember his command and not utter a single word.
"Your perfume is delightful, and I bet your skin is very soft," he bent down to his feet, reaching under my dress.
I pushed his hand away, but he did it again, his touch caressing up to my knees. His touch made me shudder with fear.
"Just as I imagined," he finally withdrew his hand, and I was able to breathe a little easier, though terror still lingered within me.
"I want your body."
"WHAT? ARE YOU COMPLETELY INSANE?!"
"I know everything about you, and I remind you that you're in no position to negotiate. You are mine these days, and you belong to me."
"I don't even know who you are. Go see a psychiatrist and leave me alone. You kidnap me to rape me and then probably kill me."
"LOOK, GIRL, I CAN TAKE WHATEVER YOU CALL ME, BUT I'M NO DAMNED RAPIST. IF YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN, I'LL MAKE SURE YOU REGRET IT."
His voice was cold, commanding, and allowed for no response.
"You're telling me that you want my body and you try to touch me without my consent. What do you expect me to think about you?"
"I will not take you unless you are willing or until you ask for it; I'm not that kind of person. Whatever happens will be consensual."
"You do not have my consent to do anything to me."
"Perfect, then we'll stay here for a long time. I have enough supplies for at least two months and enough money to travel the world and give you what you need until you agree."
"NO. I have a life, I have a job, I need to get back to my life. If I get fired, I'll have nowhere to go. I beg you, let me go."
"You can leave, but it'll be swimming because I won't take you anywhere until you agree."
"You will get nothing from me, ever."
"Wait and see." He left the room and reentered after two or three minutes.
"What is that?" he held a black envelope in his hands.
"This, dear Elizabeth, is something I can use, but it all depends on you. As I said before, the decision is entirely up to you. I'll explain it better and then I'll leave you alone to think over what you want. You have three days to give me an answer."
"What is it? Quit beating around the bush."
"You have no money, and neither do your parents, but I know someone who would pay a good ransom for you. But before you make your decision, you must know one thing," he forced me to look him in the eyes and squeezed my chin with some force as his mouth came close to mine. "If you decide not to be here, there is someone who will welcome you with open arms, and you won't have nearly as good a possibility, plus your stay will be indefinite."
We gazed into each other's eyes from a minimal distance. I couldn't take my eyes off those strange eyes that made me feel utterly intimidated.
"I will leave you to think and decide. And before I forget, I'll bring you clothes which I hope you'll put on by yourself, because if you don't obey me, I'll have the pleasure of taking off what you're wearing and putting on what I choose."
He gave me a chaste kiss and left the black envelope on my legs. He closed the door behind him and locked it again. I was locked up once again and had to open the envelope to see what it meant, and it didn't bode well.
I felt fear, terror, panic. Did someone actually want to buy me?
I forced myself to gather courage, and the first thing I saw was a photo of a person I well knew, along with other papers. Complete and detailed information, ranging from their blood type, dark hobbies, and their finances, as well as their parents'.
