Chapter 44

Time flied fast.

In the process of looking for Kaylin, Mylee suffered many days and nights alone, chewing the pain of loneliness.

His nights got darker and darker, and he was more and more addicted to smoking. He had been used to paralyzing himself with coffee and cigarettes, as if he could avoid struggling in the vortex of pain.

The cigarette burned out at his fingertips. The pain from his fingertips made Mylee wake up. In a trance, it was like going into another world.

He and everything around him seemed to be the same, but everything seemed to have changed. What remained unchanged was that the woman he never gave up looking for had never appeared.

Just like before, Kaylin disappeared in his life.

Mylee took a deep breath, bent down and put down a bunch of flowers and birthday gifts in front of the tomb of Reiss. If she was still alive, that would be so great.

After Kaylin left, Mylee never fell in love with other women, as if all the other women could not enter his sight. All he thought and missed was only Kaylin.

In the cemetery, Mylee looked up at the sky and stayed with Reiss till night. The starry sky on summer night was particularly beautiful. The moon in the sky seemed to be very close to and very far from the stars.

He had never noticed the night sky before. After Kaylin left, Mylee always looked up at the sky quietly every night, as if Kaylin's face could be seen from the sky.

For everyone, this period of time passed quickly, but for Mylee, every minute and every second was so painful.

He would often think of how he fell in love with Kaylin when he first saw her, and how he decided to be with her on impulse.

He would often think of their first two years together, that precious sweet period. But, he was unwilling to recall the painful time afterward.

"Mr. Lopes, it's late at night. Go back." The old man on patrol in the cemetery felt a little distressed when he saw that Mylee had to stand here for a whole day in every year.
