Chapter 15 You Might as Well Kill Me

Raina's hand gripped the sheets tightly under the quilt. The moment Raina heard Kaylin speak, her heart had jumped to her throat.

As Raina was hesitating to stop Kaylin, she heard Mylee's voice.

"Kaylin! Are you crazy? Are you going to kill Raina?" Mylee held Reiss in one hand and held the knife with the other.

Kaylin said, "You let go of me! If it wasn't for Raina, you wouldn't have taken the blood for Raina. Reiss was my daughter. I had been pregnant for seven months. You don't know how much pain I had to suffer. Reiss was born prematurely. If it weren't for you and Raina, Reiss wouldn't have died!"

"Mylee! If you don't let me kill her, then you stab me." Kaylin's shrill cry attracted the surrounding doctors and nurses.

Kaylin struggled for a moment, and the knife was deeply pierced into Mylee's palm. He frowned, but he said as if he forgot about the pain, "Kaylin, put down your knife. Did you see that? Reiss is in my arms. She just fell asleep. Can we not disturb her?"

Kaylin was stunned as Mylee had not spoken to her so gently for a long time.

Kaylin gently carried Reiss away from Mylee's arms and patted her butt. "I will not do this again. I will protect you well in the future and no one will bully you ever again."

And for a moment, every word Kaylin said to Reiss seemed to have gouged into Mylee's heart. The bone-deep wound on his hand seemed to have no feeling.

Mylee knew that Kaylin was Reiss' mommy, but Reiss could only call her sister.

Kaylin's voice was gentle, her long eyelashes covering her eyelids like wings.

Kaylin used a mother's tone to coax Reiss in her arms who would never wake up again. Kaylin also coaxed herself.

No one dared to remind Kaylin of this cruel fact again. The doctors and nurses had seen this kind of sorrowful scene in the hospital many times, but for the first time, they saw someone had a horrifying smile on her face to coax a dead body.

It was so pitiful yet terrifying.
