Chapter 3

"Raina, if you have any grudges, go find Mylee. Don't provoke me." Kaylin looked at Raina in front of her and said.

Raina was Mylee's girlfriend and they had been dating for four years, and Kaylin had always been aware of her existence.

Raina had spent four years to be with Mylee and finally, he married her, but Mylee was still reluctant to part with Kaylin.

"You are so shameless. You seduced my boyfriend before. We are married now! But you still pestered my husband! Did he spend the night with you?" Raina asked coldly.

Kaylin looked at Raina's face. She was the most famous actress in Mylee's company, but other than having a beautiful face, Raina had no acting skills at all!

Raina owed credits to Kaylin. It was Kaylin who got those few films that made Raina famous for her.

However, Raina had never been friendly to her.

"Who is the shameless one? You are with Mylee for four years, but I've been with him for five years! Five best years for a woman! Raina, without me, do you think you can become the best actress?" Kaylin said slowly.

Raina grabbed Kaylin's long hair, "Mylee said that you are just a plaything he bought with money. We are married, and he doesn't need you anymore. If you know what's good for you, then get lost. You disgusting home wrecker."

"I'm not! I'm not! Get lost? Alright, give me 800,000 dollars and I will go!"

Kaylin shook off Raina's hand and suddenly laughed.

"800,000 dollars? You?" Raina glared at Kaylin and said.

"Then I'll stay here and wait for your husband to come. Goodbye!"

Kaylin wanted to push Raina away, but Raina grabbed her hand.

Their hands were on the door. The moment the wind blew the door shut, their fingers were about to break. Both of them almost fainted from pain!

Kaylin tried to endure it, but Raina cried out mournfully!

When Raina fell to the ground, Mylee just arrived.

He frowned and helped Raina up. When he saw Raina's swollen hand, Mylee's eyes turned cold. "What happened? Why are you here?"

"Mylee, it hurts. I just wanted to see Kaylin, but she closed the door. My hand..."

There were tears in Raina's eyes. She looked so fragile that it made one's heart ache.

"She just said that if I give her 800,000 dollars, she will leave you."

Raina looked into Mylee's eyes, and she couldn't help but be jealous.

Mylee picked Raina up and carried her into the car. He instructed the driver, "Send her back."

"Mylee, where are you going?" Raina grabbed Mylee's arm.

"Go and settle scores with her!" Mylee flung her hand away with a vicious expression.

A trace of malice flashed past Raina's eyes. A few years ago, she framed Kaylin. Mylee believed her and thought Kaylin had betrayed him. However, Mylee was still obsessed with this woman. How hateful!

Kaylin thought that Mylee had left, but she never expected that five minutes later, the man would suddenly kick the door open.

"800,000 dollars? You think you're worth it? Kaylin, you're dreaming. How dare you trap Raina's fingers in the door?"

Mylee seized Kaylin by the throat with one hand!

Kaylin struggled from Mylee's grip. Veins popped up on her forehead.

Only when Mylee saw that Kaylin was about to suffocate did he let go of her.

Kaylin slid down the wall and sat on the ground, suddenly laughing like a madman.

"Mylee, I've been with you for five years. You never made our relationship public in the past five years. Shouldn't I get this money? The money I earned for you was more than that! But how did I become like this..." Kaylin said in a soft voice.

Every single word was like a hammer that smashed heavily into Mylee's heart.

In order not to prevent this woman from leaving him, Mylee was indeed secretly stopping her from making money.

He did not allow her to earn money. And she could not earn it no matter what. Otherwise, with Mylee's ability and status, he could easily make Kaylin a star. After all, she was beautiful enough. And with that, she definitely would not be reduced to mediocrity.

Mylee did it on purpose. He was deliberately taking revenge on this woman. Without his permission, Kaylin would not be able to go anywhere.

"Kaylin, you owe me this! This is the price you have to pay for betraying me!"

Mylee dragged Kaylin out of the room and into the bedroom.

"I didn't betray you! Why don't you believe me! Why!"

Kaylin's voice was hoarse. It sounded like her throat was bleeding.

Looking at the unsightly scar on Kaylin's belly, Mylee revealed a cold smile.

"Believe you? There are so many videos, photos, and evidence. How can I believe you? Kaylin, don't you fucking know that he is my best friend? How dare you sleep with him?!"

Mylee took Kaylin by the throat with one hand and spared another hand to prevent her from struggling. He poked the scar on her belly. Blood immediately gushed out of the wound.

Drops of blood dripped down, dyeing the sheets beneath her red.

Kaylin groaned in pain, but what appeared in her mind was not Mylee's madness and cruelty at the moment, but his gentleness and promise he had made when he brought her away from that dirty place.

He said, "Kaylin, you are mine and mine only. From now on, I will never let anyone hurt you."

Tears welled up in Kaylin's eyes and Mylee released his grip at some moment.

Kaylin was like a broken doll. Mylee looked at her coldly and said word by word, "Every time I see you like this, I feel disgusted. I warn you, don't provoke Raina again. She is my wife now. Remember this!"

Mylee left.

After an unknown period of time, Kaylin finally had the strength to get up.

The wound stopped bleeding, and Kaylin stumbled out of bed.

She walked to the dressing table and looked at herself in the mirror. What a lifeless wreck in the mirror. She suddenly burst out laughing.

She pulled open the drawer and took out the thick stack of photos. Then she tore them up one by one while laughing.

In the photo, she was in bed with Mylee's good friend, but she clearly only met Mylee's good friend once. That night, she was knocked unconscious and did not know anything.

Mylee was sure that she had betrayed him.

Betrayal? Who was the one to betray the other?

"Mylee, you once said that you believed me, but have you ever trusted me in the past five years?" Tears streamed down Kaylin's face.

Suddenly, she wiped her tears, took a fruit knife from the table, and stepped into the bathroom.

Kaylin looked at the overflowing water in the bathtub. Without taking off her clothes, she stepped into the bathtub and laid down slowly.

With a bang, the phone fell from her body to the ground. Kaylin didn't even look at it.

She no longer felt the pain in her body. She only felt a splitting headache. It was nothing compared to her broken heart.

If she died, she would be free.

She should not have fallen in love with Mylee. This was a mistake from the beginning. She was like a moth darting into a flame. She loved him wholeheartedly for five years. But Mylee would not believe it.

How many five years could she have in life?
