She's at the counter , buying a muffin and coffee.

I get up and walk over to the tall woman.

Esin

Hey ,Kate , how's it going?

She smiles at me, fangs glinting.

Professor Kate

Hey Esin! You're here studying for my class, I hope?

She gives a playful wink.

Esin

No, for my Shakespeare class. But I am going to read more of Hawthorne's short stories tonight.

I smile shyly and then brace myself to ask what I really want to.

Esin

So, um, Kate , you know a lot about culture and history through literature.

Esin

Have you ever heard of anything like a hybrid or half-blood?

She grabs her coffee and muffin , and turns to me with a thoughtful expression.

Professor Kate

Half-blood? Yes ,there are some in all kinds of literature by humans, vampires and werewolves.

Professor Kate

And in all the stories, half-bloods have quite a hard time.

Professor Kate

Society looks at them as outcasts, and they tend to get bullied. Why do you ask?

(That would explain , Feriha's cold and distant deameanor.)

Oh, uh, no reason really. I'd just heard rumors about them existing and was curious!

Professor Kate

I've never known any in my life,but I suppose it is plausible.

Esin

Good to know. Thanks, Kate .See you in class!

Professor Kate

I head back to my seat, feeling more and more intrigued by half-bloods. Well, one in particular.

It is just after 7 p.m. when I walk into my house afer studying.

As soon as I enter the living room, I notice something odd. The TV's on.

As the front door shuts behind me, my gaze moves to the sofa.

(Feriha is there!)

Oh , I wasn't expecting you to be out of the room!
