Chapter 5 Thoughts

The dinner was finished with the topic of that museum and tomb. Faith was lying on her bed confused. There is something fishy about that tomb. There is something weird that she can’t put her finger on it. A tomb with a woman buried, and treasures with her. Hey, we will be going to be richer big time!

Imagine, those treasures might cost 5 times if they are going to auction it or their museum will be a big hit if in case that tomb belonged to someone important to history. Thanks to that lady and her treasure-

“Wait! Her treasures?” Faith suddenly exclaimed.

“Does ancient people in China bury their treasures when they die? I think only pharaohs do that.” Let me check to make sure. Faith grabbed her phone and search online but royal families in China mostly do not have a tomb. They are not preserved because dynasties are often changed so the former royal families are either hanged or they are fed to vultures, their graveyards are destroyed as a sign of the change of the new dynasty.

This is getting weirder and creepier maybe the internet is not updated and that newly found tomb will write another interesting history.

*Knock, knock* “Hey dad? Are you there?” Faith said and opened the door. She is in her father’s library. She saw her father writing something with his glasses on. His father looks so much like her grandmother Gemma. And according to them Faith is a spitting image of Gemma.

“Yes, can I help you with anything?” Harold asked.

“About that tomb. I want to handle it.” She said directly.

“Hmmm, why? Treasures interest you?”

“Of course that interests me and I want to keep some for myself. That’s the prize of you keeping me in the dark.” But more than those treasures Faith is interested to the owner of that tomb.

“Hahahaha!” Harold laughed because her daughter is still grumpy about that. Well, if she wants all the treasures as long as she’s happy, then she can take it all. They can think of something to fill that museum.

“Of course you can my dear. But I want you to report every update to me. You can focus on sorting that tomb out. I will temporarily take over in managing the business and the opening of the museum. However, I still need some of your help, your dad is getting older. I can’t keep up the work.”

“Well, Dad sorry to disappoint you but I’ll still manage our business and the museum.”

“You’ll do it all? Then you’re going to be dead busy. You won’t have time to hang out with us-“ Harold stopped when he realizes something. “Wait you can’t be doing this on purpose are you?” He pointed the pen he’s holding at her.

Faith smiled when her dad realizes her plan. “Yup! You are dead right!”

“But your grandparents are right! You are in the age of marriage. You are not growing younger you know.”

Faith intended to use ‘work’ as an escape from her grandparents into pestering her about marriage.

“Yes but there’s no law that abides me that I should marry at age 23. Come on Dad, I want to enjoy my single life, I want to take time and besides you guys do not have any problem with how I manage our business right?”

“You are right but I also want a grandchild you know.” Harold was really worried about Faith. She didn’t have any boyfriend since birth. If someday she will introduce a guy even from a humble family, then he will be the happiest father alive.

“Ha-ha, well let’s just say that I’m giving my ‘future husband’ a break. You know perfectly that I’m more hassle and grumpy than Mom.”

Harold smiled, he knows he can’t argue with that.

“Okay then, But I know your grandparents will find ways to pest you on your marriage.”

It was Faith’s turn to smile she can’t also argue with that.

“Hmm, if that happens then it happens. I just have to run from it.”

And they both laughed.
