Chapter 5: The Ally

As I walked back to my apartment, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was being watched. The black sedan was still following me, and I knew I had to get rid of it.

I quickened my pace, my heart racing with every step. But no matter how fast I walked, the sedan kept pace with me.

Just when I thought I was going to collapse from fear, I saw a figure emerge from the shadows.

It was a woman with long, curly brown hair and piercing green eyes. She was dressed in a black leather jacket and ripped jeans, and she looked like she meant business.

"Need a hand?" she asked, eyeing the sedan.

I nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over me.

The woman smiled, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Let's lose them," she said.

Without another word, she grabbed my arm and pulled me down a narrow alleyway. We ran as fast as we could, the sedan screeching to a halt behind us.

As we emerged from the alleyway, I saw a motorcycle parked by the curb. The woman tossed me a helmet and swung her leg over the bike.

"Get on," she said.

I hesitated for a moment, but then I swung my leg over the bike and wrapped my arms around the woman's waist.

As we sped off into the night, I felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through my veins. We wove in and out of traffic, the sedan struggling to keep up.

Finally, we lost them in a crowded market district. The woman pulled over and killed the engine.

"Thanks," I said, breathing a sigh of relief.

The woman smiled and turned to face me. "No problem," she said. "I'm Yoon-Ah, by the way."

I smiled back, feeling a sense of gratitude towards this mysterious woman. "I'm Ji-Hyun," I said.

Yoon-Ah nodded, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "So, Ji-Hyun, what's going on? Who were those guys in the sedan?"

I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But something about Yoon-Ah's kind eyes put me at ease.

"I'm not entirely sure," I said. "But I think it has something to do with a guy named Tae-Oh."

Yoon-Ah's expression changed, her eyes narrowing. "Tae-Oh?" she repeated. "What do you know about him?"

I shrugged, feeling a sense of unease. "Not much," I admitted. "But I think he's in some kind of trouble."

Yoon-Ah nodded thoughtfully, her eyes never leaving mine. "I think I can help you," she said. "But first, we need to get you somewhere safe."

I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. For the first time in hours, I felt like I could finally breathe.

As we sped off into the night, I couldn't help but wonder what lay ahead. But with Yoon-Ah by my side, I felt like I could face anything.

Little did I know, the danger was far from over.

As we rode through the city, I noticed that Yoon-Ah seemed to know exactly where she was going. We wove in and out of alleys and side streets, avoiding main roads.

Finally, we pulled up to a nondescript building in a run-down part of town. Yoon-Ah killed the engine and turned to face me.

"This is a safe house," she said. "You'll be safe here."

I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. As I followed Yoon-Ah into the building, I couldn't help but wonder what other secrets lay hidden in the shadows.
