Chapter 4: The Warning

As I walked back to my apartment, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life was spinning out of control. Who was Tae-Oh, and what did he want from me?

I tried to push the thoughts aside, telling myself I was just being paranoid. But as I settled into my routine, I couldn't help but wonder what Tae-Oh had meant by his warning.

...----------------...

The next day, I decided to confront Tae-Oh. I needed answers.

I tracked him down to a small café on the outskirts of town. As I entered, I spotted him sitting in the corner, his eyes fixed on me.

I approached him, my heart pounding in my chest. "Tae-Oh, I need to know what's going on," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.

Tae-Oh looked up at me, his eyes serious. "You're in danger, Ji-Hyun," he said, his voice low and urgent. "Those men who warned you to stay away from me? They're just the beginning."

How did he know about that? I didn't even talk to him yesterday

I felt a chill run down my spine. "What do you mean?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

Tae-Oh leaned in close, his eyes locked on mine. "I'm involved in some... unsavory business, Ji-Hyun," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "And you're caught in the middle."

I felt a wave of fear wash over me. What had I gotten myself into?

Tae-Oh's eyes seemed to bore into my soul. "I'll do everything I can to keep you safe, Ji-Hyun," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "But you need to be careful. Trust no one."

I nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. What lay ahead?

As I left the café, I couldn't shake off the feeling that my life was about to change forever.

Little did I know, the danger was closer than I thought.

As I walked back to my apartment, I noticed a black sedan following me. My heart racing, I quickened my pace.

But this time, I was ready.

I pulled out my phone and dialed a number, my eyes fixed on the sedan.

"Hello?" a voice answered.

"It's Ji-Hyun," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "I need your help."

There was a pause on the other end of the line. "What's wrong, Ji-Hyun?" the voice asked.

I took a deep breath. "I'm in trouble," I said. "And I need your help to get out of it."

The voice on the other end of the line was silent for a moment. Then, "I'll be right there," it said.

I hung up the phone, feeling a sense of relief wash over me.

Help was on the way.

But as I looked over my shoulder, I realized that the sedan was still following me.

And this time, I was running out of time.
