Ninth Scene
Dominic arrived home. His mother welcomed him.
Mrs Dawn
Dominic, you look tired. Why don't you rest for a bit first? I need you to go to the Culvert Square for some groceries.
Dominic sat down and made himself comfortable, but he sighed from time to time.
Mrs Dawn
What's wrong, my son?
Did something bad happen today at school?
Dominic
Mom, do you trust me?
Mrs Dawn
What do you mean, framed?
Mrs Dawn
And of course I trust you.
Mr Leon
Eh, what's with the long faces, something wrong?
Dominic
Dad, a classmate of mine threw a piece of paper next to my foot today.
Mr Leon
Does it hurt you or-?
Mrs Dawn
Silly, did you forget he had an important test today? Don't you understand that it meant someone tried to paint him as a cheater?
Mr Leon
That's absolute nonsense. Dominic is too stupid to even try to cheat.
Mr Leon
I was kidding. Hahaha.
Mr Leon
So you knew who it was? Did you manage to prove innocence?
Dominic
Not yet.
Unfortunately it was our class topper. So no one believed it was him.
Mrs Dawn
That is awful!
Are you guys having a feud with each other?
Are you sure it was him?
Dominic
I don't know why he would do it either. I never really talked much to my classmates except Martin and Kyle.
Luckily I saw him do it so the Headmaster and Miss Nancy are looking into the matter.
Mrs Dawn
You were indeed lucky. Or else you could have even been expelled right at the spot.
Dominic
Yes mom. And that's what's making me worry so much. What if I end up sentenced guilty?
Mr Leon
Sentenced? This ain't court level haha. It could be that extreme if you were murdered or something you know?
Dominic became scared from his father's words, and his face turned pale.
Mrs Dawn
Geez, stop it, see you're making him scared.
Mr Leon
Okay okay. Don't be scared son. And don't worry. Evil may sometimes prevail, but the truth can't stay hidden for too long. As long as you do right, the wrong cannot win over you.
Dominic
Okay dad, thank you. I feel much better now.
Mrs Dawn
That's great.
So shall you go now? We wouldn't want you to be too late.
Dominic took the money for the groceries and set out for Culvert Square.
