Odelia had fallen asleep on the sofa the night before, but at some point during the afternoon, she had rolled off, hitting the floor with a soft thud. Yet, she didn’t wake up.
She lay there, her breathing slow, her body curled up as if trying to shield itself from the cold. The blanket she had been using had slipped off, pooling on the ground beside her.
Atlas walked into the room, his steps pausing when he saw her still there. His gaze lingered for a moment, unreadable.
