EP - 18: Fateful Questions
Odelia sits quietly, still feeling weak but trying to process what just happened. Her gaze flickers to Atlas, who stands a few steps away with his arms crossed, his face completely unreadable.
Odelia Ginger / FL
Hesitant "I don’t understand. Why did you… help me?"
Atlas Oleander / ML
Flatly "You were in the way. I didn’t want a scene."
Odelia frowns at his coldness, confused by his lack of emotion.
Odelia Ginger / FL
Quietly "Still… you could’ve just left me there."
Atlas Oleander / ML
Without hesitation "That would’ve been inconvenient. You fainting in public affects others."
His mother looks between them, clearly unimpressed with Atlas’s tone.
K Oleander/ ML MOTHER
Gently to Odelia "Don’t let him get to you, dear. He’s always like this. It doesn’t mean he doesn’t care."
Atlas Oleander / ML
Interrupting coldly "Don’t make assumptions about what I feel."
Odelia looks down, suddenly unsure of what to say. She decides to stand, but her legs wobble again. Atlas moves forward instinctively, but his hands never reach her.
Atlas Oleander / ML
Firmly "If you’re going to walk, don’t fall again."
Odelia Ginger / FL
Softly "I’m fine. I can manage."
Atlas steps back, his expression as impassive as ever. His mother sighs and offers Odelia a hand instead.
K Oleander/ ML MOTHER
"Let me help you. You’ve been through enough."
As Odelia leans on the older woman, she glances back at Atlas. His piercing eyes meet hers, but there’s no warmth, no trace of concern. It unnerves her.
Odelia Ginger / FL
To herself "How can someone be so cold? Who is he, really?"
Atlas’s mother turns to him, her voice gentle but firm.
K Oleander/ ML MOTHER
"Atlas, at least walk her to the car. It won’t hurt you to show some decency."
Atlas Oleander / ML
After a pause, curtly "Fine. Let’s go."
The three of them walk silently toward the parking lot. Odelia feels Atlas’s presence behind her like a shadow, but he says nothing, not even glancing her way.
Odelia Ginger / FL
Breaking the silence, quietly "Thank you... for catching me earlier."
Atlas Oleander / ML
Without looking at her "I already told you. It was nothing."
As they reach the car, Atlas’s mother smiles warmly at Odelia.
K Oleander/ ML MOTHER
"Take care of yourself, dear. Don’t push yourself too hard, alright?"
Odelia Ginger / FL
Gratefully "I will. Thank you for everything."
Odelia hesitates, looking at Atlas one last time. She wants to say something but decides against it. His cold gaze holds no invitation for conversation.
