Aarav stood outside Sarah's house, his heart racing with anticipation. He had been thinking about this moment all morning, wondering what he would say to her, how she would react.
He took a deep breath and rang the doorbell. The door opened, and Sarah stood before him, looking beautiful but guarded.
"Aarav," she said, her voice neutral.
"Sarah," he replied, trying to sound calm. "Can I talk to you?"
Sarah hesitated for a moment, then stepped aside, allowing Aarav to enter.
They stood in the living room, facing each other. The tension between them was palpable.
Aarav took a step closer to Sarah, his eyes locked on hers. He reached out and tried to take her hand, hoping to bridge the gap between them.
But Sarah was too quick. She pulled her hand away, her eyes flashing with anger.
"Don't," she said, her voice firm. "Just don't."
Aarav felt a pang of rejection. He had been hoping that Sarah would forgive him, that she would give him another chance.
But now, as he looked into her eyes, he saw only hurt and anger.
"I'm sorry," he said, feeling desperate. "I was wrong to say what I did yesterday. Can't you just forgive me?"
Sarah shook her head, her eyes welling up with tears.
"I need time, Aarav," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I need time to think, to figure out what I want."
Aarav felt a pang of sadness. He knew that he had hurt Sarah, and now he was paying the price.
"Okay," he said, feeling defeated. "I'll give you space. But please, Sarah, don't shut me out completely. I care about you, and I don't want to lose you."
Sarah looked at Aarav, her eyes filled with tears. "I care about you too, Aarav," she said, her voice shaking. "But I need to figure out if I can trust you again."
Aarav nodded, feeling a pang of sadness. "I understand," he said. "I'll give you all the space you need."
Sarah nodded, and they stood there in silence for a moment.
Then, without saying another word, Sarah turned and walked away, leaving Aarav standing alone in the living room.
Aarav sighed and rubbed his temples.
Aarav walked away from Sarah's house, feeling a sense of emptiness and despair. He had never felt so alone, so lost.
As he walked, the tears he had been holding back began to fall. He wiped them away with the back of his hand, but they kept coming.
He thought about all the good times he and Sarah had shared, all the laughter and the adventures. And now, it seemed like it was all being taken away from him.
Aarav walked for what felt like hours, his feet carrying him on autopilot while his mind replayed all the memories he and Sarah had made together.
Eventually, he found himself back at his own house, standing in front of the door without even realizing how he had gotten there.
He opened the door and stepped inside, feeling like he was walking into an empty, hollow shell of a home.
Aarav collapsed onto the couch, feeling like he had lost everything that truly mattered to him. He buried his face in a pillow and let the tears flow, mourning the loss of the relationship he had thought was unbreakable.
Had he lost Sarah forever?
