Setting: Jin Ae can’t shake off the eerie encounter at the back room door. The way Jae Min’s voice seemed to reach her, almost tauntingly, leaves her both thrilled and unnerved. She’s officially hooked on the mystery, whether Seo Joon likes it or not.
Jin Ae
You guys… something weird happened last night.
Mi Na
Spill! Did you sneak into the back room?
Jin Ae
No, it was locked. But I swear, I heard a voice… Jae Min’s voice. It was like he knew I was there.
Dong Hoon
Are you sure you weren’t just sleepwalking or something?
Jin Ae
I was wide awake! It was like he could sense me or something.
Eun Ji
Ooooh, maybe he’s psychic! Or… wait, what if he’s a ghost?!
Jin Ae
(laughing) If he is, at least he’s a hot one.
[Later That Night – A Sudden Power Outage]
Just as Jin Ae is about to settle down for the evening, the entire apartment is plunged into darkness. She reaches around, fumbling for her phone, when she hears footsteps in the hallway. Heart racing, she steps out of her room to find Seo Joon standing there with a flashlight.
Seo Joon
Power’s out. It happens sometimes.
Jin Ae
(nervously) You seem… oddly calm about this.
Seo Joon
I’ve been through worse. Just stay put, and I’ll check the breaker.
As he walks away, his flashlight beam vanishes, leaving her alone in the eerie quiet.
Minutes pass, and the air around her feels thicker, almost charged. She suddenly hears a faint noise, like someone whispering. She turns, half-expecting to see Seo Joon, but instead finds herself face-to-face with… nothing. Just shadows.
Jin Ae’s Inner Thoughts: This place has serious haunted-house energy. Maybe Mi Na and Eun Ji are right…
Suddenly, she feels a chill, and a faint voice echoes through the silence.
Voice
Voice (Jae Min): “Curiosity can be dangerous, you know…”
She jumps, her heart pounding, just as the lights flicker back on and Seo Joon reappears, his expression unreadable.
Seo Joon
(noticing her panic) Are you okay?
Jin Ae
(trying to play it off) Y-Yeah, just… didn’t expect a voice in the dark.
Seo Joon
(serious) Did you… hear something?
Jin Ae
Maybe I’m just paranoid. Or maybe it was… Jae Min?
At the mention of Jae Min, Seo Joon’s eyes narrow.
Seo Joon
(coldly) You need to be careful. Some things… once you’re involved, you can’t turn back.
[Jin Ae’s Chat with Mi Na and Dong Hoon]
Jin Ae
Okay, now I’m convinced this guy is hiding some paranormal stuff. He even warned me about “getting involved.”
Mi Na
Girl, you’re basically living in a ghost drama! What’s next, him revealing he’s from another dimension?
Dong Hoon
If you want my advice, maybe back off a little. Messing with supernatural stuff is a one-way ticket to Trouble Town.
Jin Ae
(defiant) Where’s the fun in that? Besides, Seo Joon practically dared me to stay uninvolved.
In the following days, Jin Ae can’t stop thinking about the voice she heard and Seo Joon’s cryptic warning. Her curiosity is at an all-time high, and the more she tries to distract herself, the more drawn she feels to unraveling Seo Joon’s secrets.
