EARTH 3030 Arrange Marriage (pt.1)
Somewhere in Multiple verses
The grand wedding hall was buzzing with chatter as the two most influential families in the country came together to celebrate the union of their heirs. To the public, it was a picture-perfect arrangement: two powerful business empires uniting through marriage. But behind the forced smiles and elegant facade, the atmosphere between the grooms was anything but cordial.
Seungcheol, known as S.Coups in the corporate world, stood stiffly at the altar, his jaw clenched. Dressed in a sharp black suit, his presence was commanding, his alpha aura impossible to ignore. Beside him stood Joshua, an omega with an icy elegance that rivaled even the finest diamonds in the room. His suit shimmered under the golden lights, but his sharp gaze could cut steel.
They had been enemies for as long as they could remember.
As children, Seungcheol and Joshua were the epitome of competition, their rivalry an unending battle that was both entertaining and exhausting for their families. Despite the tension between the two boys, their families shared a deep bond that spanned generations. Seungcheol and Joshua’s grandmothers had been inseparable best friends since their youth, a friendship that had blossomed into a close connection between their families. Whether it was weekend brunches, family vacations, or festive celebrations, the Choi and Hong families treated one another as extended kin.
This closeness made the rivalry between Seungcheol, an alpha, and Joshua, an omega, all the more intense. Joshua’s secondary gender often drew curious looks from outsiders who expected him to conform to the gentle, submissive image of an omega. But his upbringing shattered those stereotypes. Raised by his strong-willed grandfather and father—both towering figures in the business world—Joshua was taught to be independent and resilient from a young age.
joshua Grandfather
You may be an omega, Joshua
joshua Grandfather
but you carry the Hong name. That alone means you are a leader.
It wasn’t just words; it was a lifestyle. Joshua learned how to command a room with his calm yet authoritative voice, to strategize with precision, and to outmaneuver even the most cunning opponents. By the time he reached high school, he was winning debates, excelling in academics, and taking pride in proving wrong anyone who underestimated him
Seungcheol was everything one expected of an alpha—a born leader with an aura that commanded attention wherever he went. From a young age, he thrived on challenges, his natural charisma and boldness making him the clear choice for leadership roles. Whether it was being elected class president or leading his soccer team to victory, Seungcheol had a way of inspiring loyalty and admiration
Scoups Father
Leadership isn’t just about being in charge
Scoups Father
It’s about earning respect. And that’s something you’ve always had, son
When the two eventually inherited their family empires, the competition that had defined their childhood turned into a fierce corporate battle. Seungcheol’s bold, risk-taking strategies made Choi Enterprises a dominant player in the market, while Joshua’s meticulous planning and long-term vision transformed Hong Corp into a powerhouse.
Joshua
Seungcheol may act like he’s already won
Joshua
(Remarked during a board meeting, his voice cool and confident) but can he even see the traps they’re walking into 😏
Across town, Seungcheol leaned back in his office chair, a confident smirk playing on his lips.
S coups
Joshua’s too focused on his spreadsheets to see what’s coming. Let him play it safe—I’ll take the risks and the rewards
Their families, still as close as ever, often tried to mediate the rivalry, but deep down, both Seungcheol and Joshua thrived on it. Beneath the sharp words and constant competition lay an unspoken bond, shaped by their shared history and the unique connection their families had built over generations.
How did we end up in this grand wedding hall, you ask? Well, isn’t that the million-dollar question 🤔
S coups
(Nearly choked on his coffee)
The hot liquid splashing onto his shirt as he slammed the cup back onto the table. His younger brother Mingyu burst into laughter, his hand failing to stifle the noise.
his mother replied calmly, ignoring Seungcheol’s outburst. She exchanged an amused glance with her husband, who chuckled quietly behind his newspaper. while his younger brother Mingyu tried (and failed) to hide his laughter.
S coups
(Voice was incredulous as he wiped his shirt) Are you serious?
S coups
Joshua and I can’t stand each other! We’ve spent our entire lives trying to one-up each other, and now you want me to marry him? This is insane!
Came the sharp voice of his grandmother as she walked into the room, her cane tapping against the wooden floor. Her piercing eyes settled on her grandson
Scoups Grandmother
I’m the one who made the decision. You should be thanking me
S coups
(Groaned, slumping in his chair) Of course, you did. Why am I not surprised?
Scoups Grandmother
(Raised an eyebrow, silencing him)
Joshua is a fine young man. Polite, intelligent, and far more mature than you most of the time. Frankly, you’re lucky to have him. Our families have been close for generations, and I made a promise to his grandmother before she passed. A best friends’ promise.
S coups
(Echoed, exasperated) You’re basing my entire future on a promise you made decades ago?
Scoups Mother
(Smiled, reaching over to place a hand on his) It’s not just about the promise, Cheol. We adore Joshua. He’s practically been part of this family since you two were children. Your father and I know he’s the best match for you, both personally and professionally.
Mingyu
(Piped up, grinning) I always liked him. He’s the only one who could ever put hyung in his place.
Mingyu
(muttered, shooting his brother a glare) Not. Helping
His father, who had been silent until now, lowered his newspaper and said firmly
Scoups Father
Seungcheol, you know how important this alliance is. Joshua’s family has always stood by ours. And let’s be honest—he’s everything you need in a partner: intelligent, composed, and capable of managing someone as headstrong as you
Scoups Father
and beside I genuinely like the idea of kid like joshua being my son in law he is such a sweet child
S coups
(Sighed, rubbing his temples) This is going to be a disaster.
Across town, Joshua sat on the couch, staring blankly at his mother as she beamed at him from the armchair.
Joshua
Mother, I don’t even know him
Joshua
(Tone calm but laced with frustration) We haven’t spoken normally in years, and we were never exactly friends
Joshua Mother
That’s not entirely true
Joshua Mother
(Voice soft but persuasive) You two were close as children. I still remember how you’d follow him around, trying to beat him at everything.
Joshua
(Frowned) That was before he started pulling ridiculous pranks on me.
Joshua Mother
(reminded him)You poured paint in his shoes first
Joshua opened his mouth to argue but closed it again, his lips thinning.
Joshua Father
(Protective tone cutting through the conversation) I know this isn’t ideal. Even I was not sure But the Choi family has always treated you like one of their own. Seungcheol’s parents adore you, and his grandmother still talks about how you used to bake cookies for her.
Joshua
(Muttered) People change.
Joshua Mother
(Leaned forward, her voice softening) Exactly. Which is why this marriage is an opportunity. Seungcheol’s family is kind, stable, and deeply loyal. They’ll cherish you, and you’ll have all the time in the world to rebuild your connection with him.
Joshua Father
(Sighed and nodded reluctantly) I don’t like the idea of forcing you into this
Joshua Father
But I also know that the Choi family is the best choice for you. They’ll support you, protect you, and treat you with respect. That’s all your mother and I want.
Joshua Mother
His grandmother made a promise to yours before she passed. You wouldn’t want to dishonor that, would you?
Joshua Mother
(Shoulders slumped as he sat down heavily on the couch) I don’t even have a choice, do I?
Joshua Mother
(smiled, patting his hand) But look at the bright side—Seungcheol is handsome.
Joshua
(Groaned, leaning his head back against the cushion)Handsome or not, this is going to be a nightmare
The sound of chatter and soft laughter echoed through the luxurious wedding hall as guests marveled at the grandeur of the ceremony. The decorations, the flowers, the shimmering lights—everything was designed to perfection. Yet, in the center of it all, two figures stood at the altar, glaring at each other as if they had been sworn enemies for life.
S coups
(muttered, adjusting his tie as he shot a side-eye toward Joshua) You really couldn’t wait until after the ceremony, could you?
Joshua
(Raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips) You were the one who started it, Cheol. Not my fault your ‘perfect’ wedding turned into a circus.
Joshua
(Glanced around at the guests, who were trying to keep their laughter in check) Oh, sorry, I mean, our perfect wedding, right?
S coups
(Eyes narrowed) You’re unbelievable
Joshua
(shot back)You’re one to talk
Joshua
You’re the one who almost knocked over the entire cake at the reception
S coups
(Face flushed a little, but he quickly composed himself) I didn’t almost knock it over! You just don’t know how to handle yourself in public. I mean, who throws a fit over one tiny thing missing from their seating arrangement?
Joshua
(Scoffed) It wasn’t one tiny thing! That was my favorite color! I don’t know why they couldn’t get the color right. You were supposed to be in charge of that!
S coups
(Leaning closer to shua face)I had nothing to do with the tablecloths! You can’t pin everything on me, Joshua!
Seungcheol’s voice was starting to rise, but before he could continue, their parents stepped forward, trying to cool the situation down.
Scoups Mother
(Stepped in, placing a hand on his shoulder, giving Scoups a pointed look) We’ve been planning this wedding for months, and this is how you two behave?
She shot a look at Joshua’s mother, who nodded in agreement.
Joshua Mother
You two need to stop with these childish arguments
Joshua Mother
(Voice calm but firm)This is supposed to be a happy occasion.
The guests surrounding them tried to stifle their laughter, whispering to each other with wide grins.
At this point, their banter was almost as entertaining as the wedding itself. Guests laughed and whispered, exchanging knowing glances as the two of them continued to spar back and forth.
Joshua
(Sighed dramatically, throwing his hands up in mock surrender) I’m just saying, if someone would’ve listened to me about the seating arrangement, we wouldn’t have this problem.
S coups
You and your ‘perfect’ seating charts. You’re lucky this is a wedding and not a business meeting
Scoups Father
This is a wedding, not a wrestling match
Scoups Father
(Muttered to his mother, shaking his head) Can’t they just get along for five minutes?
Scoups Grandmother
(muttered back) They are just nervous so they are finding ways to keep nervousness away
Scoups Grandmother
(chuckles)You can say this is there way to hide there nervousness as well as there love language (always finding silly reasons to fight with each other)
The guests around them chuckled, clearly enjoying the show. The playful banter between Seungcheol and Joshua had somehow become the highlight of the night.
Mingyu, who had been silently watching the exchange, leaned over to his friends( there are Scoups,Mighyu and Joshua childhood friends they have see them bickering since childhood)
Mingyu
(playful)I think they make a great couple. Their constant fighting is practically foreplay.
Hoshi
I swear, their chemistry is like an old married couple already
Jeonghan
(Who had been leaning back in his chair, added dryly) If I didn’t know better, I’d say they were just pretending to fight. Some weird, twisted form of flirting.
DK
Flirting by arguing? Sounds about right for them
Woozi
(raising an eyebrow) do you think one of them will finally crack and end up saying ‘I love you’ before the month is over?
Jun
They’re both stubborn. This could go on for days.
Jeonghan
(Smirked, watching the two still bickering in the distance) If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Seungcheol's already halfway there. He’s just too proud to admit it.
The group laughed together, enjoying the light-hearted moment, while Seungcheol and Joshua continued their playful bickering, unaware of the entertainment they were providing.
Joshua’s mother added, stepping forward with a knowing smile.
Joshua Mother
Now, let’s get you both over to the reception before you make a scene for everyone.
Despite their parents’ attempts to calm them down, Joshua and Seungcheol still found themselves exchanging small jabs as they made their way out of the hall. The playful tension between them had somehow turned into an unspoken understanding. It was clear to everyone around them that this was just how they operated.
Joshua stepped into the room, his eyes widening slightly as he took in the sight of the carefully decorated space. The room was lit with warm, golden lights, the bed adorned with rose petals, and the faint scent of lavender lingered in the air. It was picturesque, no doubt planned meticulously by their parents. Joshua couldn't help but roll his eyes. Typical
Then, he heard the sound of water running in the adjoining bathroom. Of course, Seungcheol's in there. With a sigh, he walked over to the bed and plopped down, too tired to even think about changing out of his elaborate wedding attire. His eyes grew heavy, and within moments, exhaustion won, and he drifted off to sleep
Seungcheol emerged from the bathroom a few minutes later, dressed in comfortable pajamas and toweling his damp hair. He froze mid-step when he saw Joshua sprawled across his bed, still dressed in his wedding clothes.
S coups
(blurted, his voice louder than he intended)What are you doing here?
Joshua stirred at the noise, his brows furrowing as he slowly opened his eyes. He looked up at Seungcheol, his face adorably scrunched from sleep.
S coups
I said, what are you doing here?
Joshua
(Blinked a few times, sitting up groggily)What do you mean, what am I doing here? This is my room now too
S coups
(Narrowed his eyes) Excuse me? Who decided that?
Joshua
Your mom, my mom, basically everyone
Joshua
(Shot back, crossing his arms) So unless you want to explain to our parents why you made your new spouse sleep in the hallway, I’m not moving.
S coups
(Sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose) Fine. You can stay. But I’m sleeping on the bed.
Joshua
(Snorted)Nice try, but I’m already on the bed. You can take the couch.
S coups
(Jaw dropped)The couch? In my own room?
Joshua
(replied smugly, leaning back against the headboard) And I got here first, so—
S coups
That’s not how this works!
Joshua
(Waved him off) I’m too tired for this. Just take the couch and let me sleep.
S coups
(Crossing his arms) You’re the one in a wedding dress—don’t you think it’s more practical for you to sleep on the couch? Less cleaning up to do if you mess it up.
Joshua
(Gasped, mock-offended) Are you seriously calling me messy on our wedding night?
S coups
(shot back, smirking.)Well, you did just throw your shoes in the corner like a tornado hit
Joshua grabbed the nearest pillow and hurled it at Seungcheol’s head
The pillow hit Seungcheol square in the face, and he stood there for a moment, stunned. Then, without a word, he picked up the pillow and threw it back, hitting Joshua in the chest.
Joshua
(Declared, grabbing another pillow)
Before long, the room turned into a battleground of flying pillows and laughter. Feathers from a burst pillow scattered everywhere as they aimed at each other with newfound determination.
S coups
(teased, dodging a swing)You fight like a kid!
Joshua
(shot back, managing to land a solid hit on Seungcheol’s shoulder.) And you’re still losing!
Finally, both of them collapsed on the bed, panting and laughing. The once-perfectly decorated room was now in disarray, and both of them were too tired to care.
S coups
(asked, holding up his hands in surrender.) Truce?
Joshua
(agreed, a small smile tugging at his lips) Truce
They stared at the bed for a moment
Joshua
So... are you taking the couch or—
S coups
We’ll share. But we’re making a pillow wall. No crossing over to my side.
Joshua
(Rolled his eyes but grabbed a few pillows to create the makeshift barrier) Fine by me. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near your snoring, anyway.
S coups
(muttered, lying down on his side of the bed.)I don’t snore
Joshua
(Smirked, pulling the covers over himself) Sure you don’t.
As the room finally grew quiet, Seungcheol glanced over the pillow wall. Joshua was already asleep, his soft features illuminated by the faint glow of the bedside lamp. For reasons he couldn’t quite explain, Seungcheol found himself watching him for a moment longer than necessary.
So this was a oneshort request from one of the reader hope you all enjoy it (part two on the way)
