If You Could Go Back (Taekook)
Chapter 19
Kim Taehyung
I’m getting better at cooking,
Kim Taehyung
I think, Yeong
doesn’t hate it anymore.
Jennie
**Laugh**I did notice you were better last time I was home.
Yeah,
four goddamn months ago. A surge of resentment rose quickly, and I had to
fight it into submission. It wasn’t the time to go there.
Jennie
Remember when
you tried to cook for our first date?
How was I supposed to know you couldn’t throw frozen chicken in a
skillet?
Kim Taehyung
Best Burger King meal I ever had.
I smiled to myself, thinking back.
From then on, we’d ordered takeout for every anniversary. It was a silly
little thing.
There was mumbling going on in the background.
Jennie
I’m heading out with a couple girlfriends, but we can catch up on Friday,
right? I’ll make you your favorite.
I squinted at nothing. “Heading out” was probably the sentence I hated
the most. Not that I told her that. I wouldn’t begrudge her some fun with her
friends while I sat at home and took care of every little fucking thing—
Christ. I blew out a breath and repeated “𝑰 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒐𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒅, 𝑰 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒐𝒕
𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒅” in my head. It was a good day.
Kim Taehyung
I’ll see you then,
I ended the call and slumped back against the cushions again.
I hadn’t been to Seoul in a while, and I had three meetings there
tomorrow. I should go to bed. I should shower. I should pack lunches for
Yeong and Jun. Maybe if I just closed my eyes for five minutes first.
