If You Could Go Back (Taekook)
Chapter 8
Jake was showing promise. I watched him work on something in his
cubicle, while the others were more interested in deciding what to do
for lunch. The bullpen outside my boss’s office held twelve cubicles,
and I knew how difficult it could be to concentrate here
Someone
Assistant: You can go on in, Taehyung
I snapped out of my musings and rose from the little sofa outside Mr.
Yoongi’s office.
I passed his assistant and entered his fishbowl of an
office, the walls consisting of frosted glass.
Kim Taehyung
Welcome back, sir.
Kim Taehyung
How was your vacation?
To be frank, he looked like he needed another one. He both looked and
carried himself like he was decades older than me, when in reality, it wasn’t
more than…two, three years? Or thereabouts.
He looked away from his computer and gestured for me to sit.
Min Yoongi
Thanks,
Taehyung it was…all very fine. I have some good news to share with you.
Did I get the promotion? No, that was a ridiculous question. I’d landed
three fairly large accounts this summer, but the hotel chain was what I
assumed he’d base his decision on. We didn’t have the account—yet—
though I knew he’d gotten a meeting with them.
He reached for a folder on his desk and held it up.
Min Yoongi
This
is wonderful
Oh, it was the contract for another account.
Min Yoongi
I take it the
campaign isn’t for anything seasonal? A little late to start the holiday
promotions.
I shook my head and straightened.
Kim Taehyung
Rebranding, I suggested
commercials running on regional public transit. They’re off shooting those
now.
Min Yoongi
Clever,Unfortunately, I have to add more to your plate.
I was on the edge of my seat. 𝑇𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑚𝑒 𝑤𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑎 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑡. I knew I’d
be great at this. I burned for what I did, and I had ideas—if only I could get
to present them.
He smiled faintly and opened a drawer in his desk
Min Yoongi
I want you to put
together a team, Taehyung. You have two weeks to come up with a concept
for your meeting with the reps of Westwater.
Holy fudge!!. I gusted out a breath as excitement filled me, and I nodded,
doing my best to control my smile. No need to go megawatt on him. This
was it. This was what I’d been waiting for. It was going to take me to the
next level.
