After class, I waited for Lucian. The golden café was crowded. I sipped my favorite hot chocolate. Then the man in the suit appeared in front of me. It was him. Finally, he came. Even in that suit, he is handsome. But I avoided my gaze even though he didn't like me. Then what am I expecting? But I am really curious about what he wants to talk to me about.

"Are you waiting for me too long?" he asked as he sat on the opposite side.

"Not at all. Let's get down to business. Mr. Lucian, I know you hate me, but what do you want from me?"

"I don't hate you," he replied gently.

"What?" I was frozen for a moment. "What did you say?" I smirked at him.

"I'm sorry, Miss Nyth. I did hurt you. Can you forgive me?" Lucian stared at me. In his icy blue eyes, I found honesty. But compared to the other day, he wasn't the ruthless and arrogant guy before me. He seemed sad and lonely.

"Look at you; you're becoming thin these days," I commented on him. He seemed surprised, and a beautiful smile appeared on his face.

"Just like Senior Einar told me, you are a kind woman," he chuckled.

"Excuse me, don't take me too lightly. I am not pathetic and useless; I can fight too, like yesterday," I warned him.

"I am sorry for saying those things to you, but yesterday was impressive," he told me.

"Are you complimenting me or annoying me?" I asked him suspiciously.

"I am complimenting you," he smiled sincerely.

"Geez, you can make a pretty smile, though," I muttered.

"Oh really? That's a compliment, I see," he replied.

"So, what do you really want to discuss with me? I know that you wouldn't approach me for simple things, and you had a chat with my uncle too," I asked him seriously. "I am not simple; I won't trust people so easily. I want to know what his motive is."

He took a deep breath. "Yes, I want something from you. Before that, shall we go to a place?" he suggested.

"Okay," I replied. "Let's see what you're scheming."

We began to walk on the streets. It was already nighttime. The streetlights were on, and the shops were crowded. I saw some high schoolers hanging out, munching street food and giggling, which reminded me of my high school days.

I glanced at Lucian. He had a serious expression on his face, as if lost in thought. Where is he taking me? Then we turned off from that street. There, I saw a huge gate of a graveyard.

"Oh, isn't this Chester's graveyard? What are we doing here?" I asked him furiously.

"I will tell you, be patient," he replied calmly. There were some people visiting at this late hour. Lucian led me to a specific graveyard.

"I want to show you this," he pointed to a grave. I read the name on it and froze. Something inside me shattered. It was engraved like this:

SITARA

1999-2018

"This is... Are you?" I stammered with tears. I went near the grave and knelt down, biting my lips. I really didn't want to cry, but my eyes betrayed me.

"You are?" I asked.

"Yes, I am her only brother, Lu. I didn't know my sister gave her life to protect you. Thank you for being with her."

"But... We didn't find her body. What if she's alive? What if I mistook her?" I furiously shouted at him.

"That's not possible. Most likely, she's dead. She was a smart girl. If she is alive, she must have given us a clue, but she still didn't," he said desperately. I could feel his pain.

"Did uncle tell you everything?" I didn't know what to say, touching those engravings.

"No, he just told me about you, Tara, and Ayla. Was she also part of that incident?" he asked.

"Yes, she is my senior," I replied coldly.

"Do you believe it's them?" he asked.

I didn't answer his question; I just stood up and showed him the reaper's seal on my neck.

He seemed shocked and came near. He held my shoulder. "Can you tell me what exactly happened two years ago? I want to know why my sister and BFF died!" he shook me furiously. I could see his frustrated face.

I held his hand. "Calm down... I will tell you. But before that, you have to know about this person, Vante, my ex-boyfriend, who started all of this!"
