The Chester was in the heat of the famous psychologist's death. The police started their investigation. The Lucian guy is the head of the special force and a crewmate of Ayla senpai. I got to know about it from my uncle. While discharging from the hospital, my friends visited me. I shared everything about the Reapers with them. They looked terrified. Yes, our past began to hunt us. We promised to stick together.

I visited the police department along with my uncle. I apologized to them. My uncle, Einar, is an ex-police chief. There I met Lucian, Chester's one of the best officers, and a best friend of Ayla senpai. He is incredibly handsome, a perfect model, but he is ruthless, arrogant, and cold. His ice blue eyes were filled with anger while I apologized. I could feel his hatred. I heard about him from Ayla senpai because he is a precious friend, and to him, it was the same, and I ruined everything.

When my uncle was busy with others, Mr. Lucian came near me. I was surprised to see him close to me. I know I caused trouble for him. Before I could speak, he interrupted me.

"I don't care who you are related to Mr. Nyth, but if you become trouble for me, I will throw you out because I hate to see pathetic people like you. You are just a burden for others."

I was horrified to hear his words. He stomped towards the door and shut it very loudly. My eyes became red for a reason.

"Never mind him, he was frustrated to find the killer who caused his bff's death. He is taking it out on you," Uncle told me.

"Uncle, do you think I am useless and a burden for you?" I asked him with teary eyes.

He smiled, wiped my tears, and said, "As far as I know, you are the bravest kid who is fighting against darkness."

Those words boosted me, and I hugged him. After that, I didn't see Lucian. I can't blame him. I admitted my mistake, so I decided to stay away from any troubles.

I attended the funeral and send my final goodbye to my senpai. I couldn't hold back my tears. She was also my light. She faded away mysteriously. My friends stayed with me, as did Uncle. My foster parents visited me and consoled me. They advised me to go with them to New York.

Politely, I refused and decided to pursue my studies here. I know my fate; it's better if my parents don't get involved in this matter anymore. They suffered so much because of me. Uncle advised me and my friends to be cautious because we were being targeted.

The days passed. One day, I forgot to bring my books to the apartment. I decided to go back and get the book. While on the way, I stumbled upon someone's feet and fell onto them. That guy held me tightly, his breath tickling my neck. For some reason, I had a chilling feeling. I began to sweat, lost my voice for a second, and couldn't move because of terror.
