Episode 4

After the ridiculous scene that happened in the elevator, I seriously thought about not going back to work. I found a hotel, it was already past 2 am, at least it was close. This morning, I almost missed work. I arrived with two minutes to spare, and luckily my friend was already organizing the trays.

"Girl, I thought you weren't coming" she said to me, startled by my delay, knowing I'm never late.

"Did something happen?" she asked, and I shook my head.

"Here, take these first trays, there was a mess here yesterday, I'll explain later. Get out there, it's already 00:00, go on while I quickly get dressed" I said, and she agreed, leaving and letting me go to the bathroom to put on my uniform and get ready.

We divided the tasks, one made the drinks and snacks and the other delivered them. I heard the intercom ring and they said I should go down to the entrance immediately, someone was waiting for me.

"Okay, I'm going down" I said and hung up. I waited for Julie to return and went down, unaware of who was waiting for me. I thought it might be my mother or sister, but I wasn't prepared for the audacious visit I received.

When I arrived at the entrance, I wasn't expecting to find Arnaldo there. I was startled and took a step back.

"Arnaldo? What are you doing here?" I felt a chill run down my spine and my vision blurred, I knew I was going to faint.

Dante.

I woke up a little later than usual. I spent more time than I should have thinking about the girl, dreaming of her rosy mouth and her strong temperament.

I was arriving at the company when I saw a strange commotion. I got closer, and Fernando was already there.

"What happened?" I asked, seeing Samira there.

"She fainted. A man came after her; the doorman said she called him Arnaldo and fainted right away" he said, and I remembered the name she said while she was dreaming something bad and saved it for another opportunity. He came to my company; I would have to see what he wanted with her and resolve this situation.

"She's waking up" I heard the girl say, and I looked serious.

"What happened?" she asked, apparently confused.

"You fainted, a man came looking for you, and you just fainted. Do you want to go to the doctor?" Her friend said worriedly.

"Ms. Samira, I want you in my office in 10 minutes" I spoke, and only then did she notice my presence. My brother looked at me seriously, and I withdrew. I didn't have time for questions or whispers.

My brother caught up with me in the elevator and asked:

"What's your problem with the girl? You're not going to fire her, are you?" My brother seemed worried, and I was once again left with that feeling of discomfort, so I responded reluctantly.

"Don't worry, Mr. Protector of Innocent Girls, I just want to clarify a few things. When we were in the elevator," she said this guy's name, so I want to know the risk she's in and what he came to do here "I answered, and he didn't seem to believe me and continued to look at me seriously."

"Okay, but I'll be with you; she's scared of you; if I'm there, she won't be so nervous" he said, and I refused again. I didn't accept his interference, and he knew it.

"No, I'll talk to her alone. Get busy now and leave me be" I was firm, and he shook his head in refusal.

"She has no one but me and her friend; her supervisor is the witch who walks all over her. Go easy, man; Julie said she's going through a hard time" he replied and left my presence.

I got to my office and prevented my brother from entering; I would talk to her alone and set some things straight.

A few minutes passed, and I hear a knock on the door.

"Mr. Rossi, I wanted to talk to you" she said, and I told her to come in and sit down.

"Yes, come in. Are you feeling better?" I asked, and she narrowed her eyes at me, trying to understand my question.

"Did you hear me? Are you feeling better?" I asked once more.

"No, I mean yes. Cough, cough" she said and coughed. I saw that her skin was pale, and she was very nervous.

I got up from the desk and went to the side of her chair, sat down, and turned her to me.

Her curious and worried gaze looked at me, and my eyes fell on her full lips. Without thinking about my movements, I brought my hand to her face. Her fair skin was perfect, and I wondered how I never noticed her presence here before.

"You have a fever" I said, and she asked:

"What?"

"You got caught in the rain yesterday, didn't you? Now you have a fever; your elevated temperature with the presence of that Arnaldo probably caused you to collapse. I'll take you to the hospital" she immediately came to her senses and pulled my hand from her face.

"I'm fine, and I have to work. I won't give you any trouble here at the company, and that guy won't come back here or I'll call the police myself" she said and confirmed the suspicions I had.

"Yesterday, while you were sleeping in the elevator, you talked about not sleeping with anyone and also about the name Arnaldo, and that name came with a phrase,"Let me go, Arnaldo,"was what you were saying. Who is this man, and what does he want with you?" I went straight to the point, not expecting the answer I got.

"I'm sorry for the confusion; I didn't call him, and I don't want him here. Don't worry; he won't be back, but I don't owe you any explanation about my life" audacious, in danger, but not asking for help.

"Okay, I'm not asking you to tell me; I'm ordering you" I raised the intensity of my voice, wanting to cause fear, and there was no positive response.

"If you must know, you already talked about your mother and what she did" I lied without any guilt; she was urging me to get to know her, and I needed to know why.

"I can't believe I said that" she got nervous, and her eyes welled up.

I didn't like to see her crying and wanted to comfort her.

"My mother didn't have that right; I will give my virginity to whoever deserves it, not for money and not for that disgusting man. My mother already did that when my sister was younger; she told me yesterday, and I was disgusted. He paid $5,000 for one night, and when I heard them negotiating that, I ran away. He wants his money back; my mother said I ran away with the money; she must have said where I work. I'm going to have to get out of here, or he won't leave me alone" the girl is brave on the outside, but these are barriers erected to protect herself from her family.

"Your mother sold you?" I said, feeling that discomfort take over me again.

"Don't worry; I'll pay off your debt and make sure to get this guy away from here. Did you find a place to stay?" I asked, and she nodded.

"I'm staying at the hotel tonight, and tomorrow I'm going to my colleague Julie's apartment, who you shouldn't even know" she said, and I smiled.

"My eyes are currently on another girl. Pack your things; I'll take you to the hotel" I said, and she said:

"I can't or the Witch will discount me. They don't pay me for overtime, but they make all the deductions" she said, and I understood that the woman was picking on her.

"Gorete? I'm letting Samira go today without any deductions, and I want all her unpaid overtime payments to be deposited into her account today. I want a copy of that on my desk too, or you will be penalized" I said and hung up the phone.

"Go pack your things; we'll leave in 5 minutes" I said, and I already warned Fernando that we were going after a rat, and he replied OK and a drawing of a punch; my brother is an excellent fighter.

I was leaving the room when I saw Alessia arriving. At that moment, she didn't catch my attention. She enters to deliver the papers to me, and as soon as I close the door, she comes to give me a kiss, and I turn my face. She's strange, and she asks me:

"What is it, boss? You don't want me today?" she complains, trying to sound whiny.

"No, Alessia, I'm in a hurry; I have another commitment. We'll talk later. Thank you for the documents" I said, going to the door and seeing Samira waiting on the street with her backpack.

Alessia looks at her and me; Fernando gets closer to her, and Alessia confirms her suspicion.

"The mighty one, after young girls? I didn't think it was your style, honey. Isn't she the poor thing that brings coffee to your clients? Hahaha, doing charity work, Dante" hearing Alessia talk like that made me hate it. Luckily for me, she didn't hear, and I don't even know why I'm worried about her.

"Don't talk nonsense, Alessia, nothing that will ruin our friendship. See you later" I said, and the wretch gave me a peck in front of Samira and walked away swaying her hips. I closed my door and we left, we went to the car, and she said:

"Your girlfriend won't be mad at seeing me in your car?"

Fernando looked at me seriously, and I answered:

"She's not my girlfriend."

Then we left.
