Ayla: He spits all those atrocities in my face as if I were a woman of the streets, and walks away, and I end up speechless in the face of so much humiliation.
I would have preferred a thousand times to have been slapped in the face because after the pain passed it wouldn't hurt as much as those words, tears stream down my face and, feeling lost, I grab my things and leave.
Seriously, I didn't need any of that, after all, I didn't do anything wrong.
I don't even know how I got home, but I was determined.
I packed a bag, took all my things, my mother, without understanding anything, comes to talk to me.
Joaquina: My daughter, what's going on? Where are you going?
Ayla: Still crying, I answer.
Mom, I'm sorry, but I'm going to the convent, I swear I'll do everything to help you, but this world is too much for me, people are mean and cold, I need to go.
Joaquina: All right, that's always been your dream, but what happened to make you so upset?
She says, hugging me.
Ayla: It was nothing, I just need to go purify myself.
I lie because I didn't want her to worry.
And so I packed my bags and left for the convent in River.
Arriving there, the sisters welcomed me and prepared a place for me to stay, still very dejected, I took a good bath and after dinner I began my purification, this is my thing, because I sinned with that kiss and dreams and everything else, I don't feel worthy of being here.
I end up falling asleep, overcome by the exhaustion of being there kneeling and praying, I wake up with Mother Antonia calling me, and so I get up from that cold floor.
Mother Antonia: My child, what happened that you slept on this cold floor?
Ayla: It was nothing, Mother, I was praying until late and ended up falling asleep!
Mother Antonia: I understand, but this way you'll end up catching a cold, child.
We laugh.
And so the days go by there, until they tell me that I'm going to be transferred to the mission field, and I'm very happy, after all, who doesn't want to go take care of the lost souls of this world.
I start packing my clothes because in two days I'm going to leave for Germany, then Mother Antonia comes up to me and says.
Mother Antonia: Hi, child, you have a visitor!
Ayla: My heart fills with joy, it must be my mommy, after all, I only have her in this life and she's the only one who knows I'm here.
So I reply: Oh, how nice, tell her I'm coming right away.
Mother Antonia: Look at your excitement, alright, I'll let them know you're coming down.
Ayla: So I get ready and go downstairs quickly, dying to see my mommy, but I'm surprised to see that it's not my mother.
